LEONARD WARREN DISCOGRAPHY

From 1939 through 1959, Leonard Warren participated in more than one hundred recording sessions. From individual songs or arias to complete operas, Warren always recorded well, usually requiring only one take for each selection.

As the world's leading interpreter during the 1950s of Giuseppe Verdi's baritone roles, Warren recorded six complete Verdi operas and a second version of Il trovatore, as well as selections from three others. His performances in three Verdi operas are included in the Metropolitan Opera's Historic Broadcast recording series. Although he performed on stage in Ernani, no authorized recordings of Warren were made from that opera. Regrettably, the baritone neither performed nor was recorded in Don Carlo or Nabucco.
