Chapter 512: Marshal H’El VS Ancient Dragons
Chapter 512: Marshal H’El VS Ancient Dragons
The Burning Sky near the Volcano -The sky above the volcano had become a battlefield as smoke and ash churned in thick clouds, illuminated from below by the crimson glow of lava and from above by the crackling red lightning that danced between the peaks.
H’El moved through the sky like a ghost, his shadow form blazed with violet light, his eyes tracked the three dragons that circled him, their massive forms blotting out what little light remained.
They were beautiful, in their way.
Scales the color of magma, wings that stretched across the sky, eyes that burned with hatred. Fire dripped from their maws like saliva, each drop sizzling as it fell toward the plains below. They moved with like predators who had never known defeat.
But H’El had known defeat, he had known death, and he had been reborn in something far greater than mere life.
The largest of the three dragons a beast whose horns were cracked with age, whose scales bore the scars of a thousand battles, roared, its voice shaking the mountains.
"Know your place, shadow," the dragon growled, its words carrying across the sky like thunder. "You are nothing but a puppet, a ghost and a servant to a master who hides behind his armies... unlike our great king."
The second dragon, sleeker, faster, its eyes burning with cunning circled behind H’El, its voice a hiss that cut through the wind.
"The Shadow Monarch sends his pets to do his bidding as usual, how fitting. He is too cowardly to face us himself."
The third dragon, the youngest, laughed. "Perhaps he is afraid, perhaps he knows that his shadows are nothing before true Dragonfire."
H’El said nothing, his face was calm and his eyes were steady, he had been prideful in life , he had died, and he had been remade, and he had learned something in that process that no living being could understand:
Words did not matter, only actions.
The largest dragon lunged, its maw opening wide, its throat glowing with the fire that would soon consume everything in its path.
H’El moved Forward.
He shot through the dragon’s fire like a bullet through paper, his shadow form shimmering with the heat, his violet eyes blazing. The dragon’s jaws closed on empty air, its fire dissipating into the wind.
H’El’s fist connected with its skull.
The impact sent shockwaves across the sky, visible ripples that pushed the clouds aside. The dragon’s head snapped sideways, its eyes rolling, its roar cut short by the sheer force of the blow.
Before it could recover, H’El was gone.
The second dragon attacked claws extended, fire streaming from its maw. H’El spun in midair, his body twisting with the grace of a dancer, and caught the dragon’s claws in his hands. The creature’s momentum was immense, enough to shatter mountains, enough to level cities.
H’El held it in place.
His body didn’t bend, he stood in the sky like a statue, the dragon’s claws pressed against his palms, its eyes wide with disbelief.
"What.."
H’El squeezed.
The dragon’s claws cracked.
It screamed a high-pitched, desperate sound that echoed across the volcano. Its other claw swung toward H’El’s head, its tail lashed toward his back, its fire built in its throat,
H’El released its claws.
He moved faster than the dragon could track, his hand closing around the horn on its skull. The horn was massive, longer than H’El was tall, its surface jagged and sharp. It had been a weapon for millennia, a tool of domination and terror.
H’El tore it off.
The dragon’s scream turned into a shriek of agony, thick blood poured from the wound. H’El held the horn in his hand, its weight immense, its edge dripping with the dragon’s lifeblood.
He looked at it.
Then he drove it into the dragon’s neck.
The horn pierced through scale and flesh and bone, emerging from the other side in a spray of blood. The dragon’s eyes went wide then empty. Its body went limp, its wings folding, its fire dying.
H’El released the horn.
The dragon fell, it tumbled through the sky, end over end, its massive form casting a shadow across the volcano below. It crashed into the obsidian plain with a sound like a mountain falling, its body sending shockwaves across the landscape.
The largest dragon watched its comrade fall.
"You..."
H’El was already moving.
He flew straight at the dragon not dodging, not weaving, but charging. The creature’s fire erupted from its maw, a torrent of liquid flame that would have melted steel, would have vaporized stone.
H’El flew through it.
The fire washed over his shadow form like water over glass. It did not burn him and it did not slow him. He emerged from the flames with his eyes blazing, his fist already cocked back.
And with super speed he tore through the dragon’s skull.
Not into it but Through it.
He emerged from the other side, covered in blood and fragments of bone. The dragon’s body convulsed then went still. It hung in the sky for a moment, suspended by the force of H’El’s momentum, before gravity reclaimed it.
It fell.
The third dragon the youngest, the one who had laughed stared at H’El with eyes wide with terror.
It opened its maw.
Fire erupted not a stream, in a torrent, a column of destruction that could have carved through a mountain. It was the dragon’s last hope, its final gambit, its desperate attempt to destroy the shadow that had killed its kin.
H’El stood in the center of the flame.
His arms were crossed, his expression was calm and the fire washed over him, around him, through him and he did not move.
The dragon’s fire died.
Its eyes widened.
H’El reached out.
His hand closed around the dragon’s tail, the beast was massive its body far more larger than H’El, its weight measured in tons and it tried to fly away, its wings beating desperately against the sky, its claws scrabbling at the air.
H’El didn’t move.
He held the tail with the casual ease of a man holding a rope. The dragon pulled, the dragon strained and the dragon roared with both anger and even fear now.
"RELEASE ME THIS INSTANCE!"
H’El’s eyes glowed violet.
"No."
He spun. The dragon’s body whipped through the air like a child’s toy end over end, its wings flapping uselessly, its screams lost to the wind. H’El spun faster, faster, faster, until the dragon was a blur of scales and fire and terror.
Then he released it.
The dragon hurtled toward the ground at speeds that should have been impossible, the impact was cataclysmic a shockwave that shook the volcano to its foundation, that sent massive fissures racing across the plains, that threw ash and stone into the sky like a shroud of mourning.
The dragon lay in the center of the crater, its body broken, its wings shattered, its fire sputtering and dying. It tried to rise, its legs buckled and its head fell to the ground, its eyes glazed with pain.
H’El descended.
He landed in front of the dragon’s face, his boots touching the ground with a soft thump. His violet eyes stared into the dragon’s own.
"I’ll teach you some manners," H’El said softly, "once you are part of us."
The dragon’s eyes widened, and H’El’s fist descended.
It was not a single punch. It was a storm. His fists rained down on the dragon’s face, each blow leaving a crater in the scales, each impact sending shockwaves through the creature’s body, the dragon tried to scream, but the screams were lost beneath the rhythm of destruction.
Bones shattered and his scales cracked. Blood sprayed across the ground.
The dragon’s body went still and H’El stepped back, his fists dripping with blood, he looked at the three corpses scattered across the volcanic plain the first dragon with a horn through its neck, the second with its skull caved in, the third with its face reduced to pulp.
He closed his eyes.
"It is done, my King."
The words carried across the distance, through the shadows, into the mind of his master.
A moment of silence.
Then Arthur’s voice, warm with approval.
"Good work, Make sure to gather their corpses, I will need them."
"It shall be done." H’El’s lips curved, just slightly, just for a moment.
