Reborn After Betrayal: The Frail True Princess Decides to Give Up

Chapter 245 : Apologize to Them

Chapter 245 : Apologize to Them

Though Tucker had apologized, Celitia wasn't planning to let them off yet."For things to develop this way," Celitia smiled, the implication in her words self-evident, "we can't entirely blame Baron Tucker."

Tucker immediately understood, turning his head to glare fiercely at Olar:

"It's all your fault, you bastard! Hurry up and apologize to them!"

"Huh?!" Olar opened his mouth wide in disbelief.

As soon as Olar was released from prison, Charles had hurriedly sent him to the countryside, so he knew nothing about his sister's affairs.

He had always been spoiled rotten by his father at home—when had he ever suffered any grievance?

The biggest losses he'd taken were at Celitia's hands, those unfortunate times he'd been overturned.

Even coming to the countryside with his tail between his legs, Baron Tucker had still been polite to him.

Now Tucker was turning his back on him, pushing all the blame onto him?!

Olar ground his teeth in hatred, shouting: "I didn't do anything wrong—I won't apologize!"

With that, he tried to push through the crowd and run away.

Ariel was quick-eyed and fast-handed, grabbing Olar by the collar and dragging him back forcibly.

She held her fist threateningly in front of Olar's eyes: "They've all said so—are you going to apologize or not?"

Clearly, if Olar dared not apologize, Ariel's long-suppressed fist would be enough to beat him unconscious.

Under the lioness's terrifying aura, Olar trembled uncontrollably. After struggling for a long time, he was forced to submit:

"I'm sorry..."

Having said those three words, Olar deflated like a punctured balloon, hanging his head dejectedly and looking dispirited.

Frustration, anger, and unwillingness burned fiercely in his chest. The way Olar looked at Celitia was as if he wanted to devour her entirely.

Every single time—it was every single time he encountered this kind of situation because of Celitia!

The previous times, he had swallowed his anger, but did Celitia really think he didn't dare retaliate?!

Olar was so angry he nearly fainted, making a fierce vow in his heart.

Tucker didn't care what Olar was thinking, constantly smiling apologetically at Celitia and Ariel:

"It's already noon. Please do us the honor of enjoying lunch at my home.

"Of course, Mr. Lake, Mrs. Judy, Miss Shanie, and your friends—I'll host everyone together to express my apologies!"

"No need," Celitia smiled as she declined. "You just need to release Lake early and let their family reunite."

"Right away, right away!" Tucker nodded and bowed. "But it's not appropriate to just wait here—why don't we all go to my home—"

Seeing Tucker still hadn't given up on hosting them, Ariel became very impatient, her golden eyes sharp as she glared at him fiercely.

Baron Tucker was immediately intimidated, only daring to smile apologetically on the side without speaking further.

Celitia waited patiently for Tucker's sent men to bring Lake back.

After nearly half an hour, Lake finally hurried back under his followers' escort.

Seeing his own house from afar, and his wife and daughter waiting for him, Lake rubbed his eyes in disbelief.

"Goddess, I thought I was done for..."

Having been taken from prison without explanation, Lake had thought Baron Tucker was taking him somewhere remote to finish him off permanently.

Lake never expected they would actually bring him home.

"Darling!"

"Dad!"

Judy and Shanie rushed over, hugging Lake tightly as the family embraced.

Shanie pulled Lake around to examine him. Seeing that though he looked haggard and his clothes were tattered, he wasn't actually injured, she finally sighed in relief.

Celitia turned her head and looked meaningfully at Baron Tucker.

Getting her hint, Baron Tucker had no choice but to speak: "Lake, I'm truly sorry this time. I listened to rumors and had you imprisoned."

Practice makes perfect—Tucker's words came much more smoothly this time.

Actually hearing the baron apologize to him, Lake was completely stunned.

What on earth had happened?!

Looking at Baron Tucker, then at his family, then at Celitia and Ariel, Lake was completely bewildered.

Before Lake could react, Baron Tucker said to Celitia: "Since the misunderstanding has been cleared and Lake has been released, I'll take my leave first."

Celitia smiled at him: "Please take care."

Baron Tucker bid farewell to the two and walked slowly toward his followers.

Village Chief Miller still stood ahead, looking at them with vacant eyes and slightly open mouth, completely unable to understand this development.

Passing by Miller, Tucker suddenly stuck out his leg and kicked Miller hard without mercy.

"Ouch!"

Miller lost his footing and tumbled to the ground, his walking stick clattering down beside him.

"You old fool, why did you come running to report nonsense to me?"

Baron Tucker was grinding his teeth in hatred.

If Miller hadn't come running to report, Baron Tucker originally had no intention of getting involved.

By not getting involved, he wouldn't have directly confronted Celitia and Ariel and could have pushed everything onto Olar.

It was all this old man's fault—coming to report without even figuring out who the troublemakers were!

Tucker didn't even look at Village Chief Miller sprawled on the ground, leaving with his followers.

Miller lay on the ground groaning. Most of the surrounding villagers just watched, only his son came running after getting the news. Not daring to say anything, he helped the man up with a red face.

Olar followed behind Tucker, and just as he was about to leave, he turned back to look at Celitia once more.

His eyes were full of resentment and unwillingness.

Celitia didn't care, only returning a very shallow smile that didn't reach her eyes.

All of this fell under Ariel's gaze.

The anger suppressed in her chest exploded, and Ariel rolled up her sleeves, about to go beat someone up.

Before Ariel could act, a cool, soft hand gently grasped hers.

Turning back, Ariel saw Celitia slowly shake her head at her.

"But..." Ariel was very unwilling.

"If we want to deal with Olar, there are plenty of opportunities," Celitia smiled. "There's no need to act in broad daylight with so many people watching."

Celitia didn't care whether Olar got beaten or not. Even if Ariel really beat him bloody, Olar couldn't do anything to her.

She stopped Ariel only because she didn't want her to leave a fierce, domineering impression in the people's eyes.

She didn't want her to be feared by others again because of her.

When Ariel looked back again, Olar had already gone quite far.

"Lucky for you, kid," Ariel muttered. "Next time I see you, I'll definitely beat you so badly you can't get out of bed for three months!"

The corner of Celitia's mouth twitched slightly.

Speaking of which, if the Saintess was always this violent, she really wouldn't be able to find a partner!

In the future, she might really have to resort to publicly snatching brides at weddings!
