Reborn After Betrayal: The Frail True Princess Decides to Give Up

Chapter 220 : Caught You, Little Dream Demon

Chapter 220 : Caught You, Little Dream Demon

Ariel hadn't forgotten how weak and pained Celitia had looked after waking up Benita.Undoubtedly, this power beyond the norm would place a great burden on her body.

"Let's find another way," Ariel's voice was extremely firm. "I can't watch you act recklessly again!"

No longer paying attention to Monica, Ariel grabbed Celitia and forcibly dragged her out of the house.

"I'm fine," Celitia tried to struggle. "As long as we resolve her situation, we can get out."

Ariel simply wouldn't listen: "You promised not to act recklessly!"

"But I'm not acting recklessly?" Celitia protested.

"If I say it's reckless, then it's reckless!"

"..."

How could there be such a dictatorial person?!

Celitia was completely powerless.

The Saintess had strength that surpassed a lion's and was more stubborn than an ox—there was absolutely nothing she could do about her.

Benita also nodded in agreement: "Anyway, this old woman is right here and won't run away anywhere."

The two flanked Celitia on both sides, completely ignoring her resistance as they brought her out of the stone house.

Stumbling along with the two as they walked outside, Celitia stopped, rubbed her forehead, and sighed deeply:

"Fine... then let's go find another way."

Come to think of it, forcibly dragging Monica out of her sweet dream made Celitia feel quite reluctant too.

That's right—no matter what kind of beautiful dream it was, there would always come a moment when it ended.

But before that time came, let Monica enjoy it a little longer.

"Since only one dream remains, the affected area nearby has shrunk considerably."

Celitia analyzed. "Why don't we split up and go to the edges of the dreamscape to see if we can find an exit?"

"Benita and I going is enough," Ariel directly made the decision. "You stay right here and behave yourself—don't go anywhere."

Celitia glared: "You're leaving me behind again?"

"This isn't leaving you behind," Ariel said very righteously. "It's having you watch Monica so nothing happens to her. If something really does happen, you can notify us immediately."

Benita chimed in: "Right! We're entrusting you with such an important task, Lily!"

Celitia was so choked up by their reasoning she couldn't speak.

This excuse was quite sufficient—there was no way to refuse it!

"Fine, then you two be careful." Celitia could only compromise.

After discussing, Ariel and Benita split up in different directions.

Celitia sat down by the wooden fence at the village edge, gazing at the stone house from afar.

Suddenly, time in this dreamscape began to accelerate.

Sun rose and set, days passed one by one.

Monica and Yurian stayed in their hometown like this, depending on each other and working diligently.

The stone house they lived in was renovated, becoming more solid and spacious than before, and their life improved.

Yurian stood at the doorway, waving goodbye to Monica: "Mother, I'm going to the city."

Monica nodded at him, instructing: "Alright, remember to come back early."

Mother and son parted ways.

At sunset, Monica stood at the doorway waiting for Yurian to return.

However, even after night had completely fallen, she couldn't wait for Yurian.

Every day after that, Monica stood in the same place, waiting for her son's return.

But she never could wait for that person who should have come home.

Monica didn't give up and continued waiting day after day.

She waited as years passed, as wind and frost visited her cheeks, carving knife-like wrinkles one after another.

She was still waiting.

Celitia silently watched all of this.

In Monica's dream, perhaps a long time had passed, but in Celitia's perception, it was only a brief half hour.

"Beautiful dreams always come to an end," Celitia murmured to herself, "and then nightmares will descend."

Deep sorrow gradually rose in her eyes.

Celitia understood this feeling very well.

Wasn't she the same way?

Immersed in beautiful dreams and unable to extricate herself, unwilling to wake up no matter what.

Even when nightmares descended, she still held onto that one hope, waiting foolishly.

Like dream bubbles and illusions.

Celitia sighed softly, stood up from beside the wooden fence, and patted the dust off her skirt.

Ariel and Benita hadn't returned yet. Celitia walked over alone to Monica, who was gazing foolishly at the doorway.

"Let's go, Granny Monica." Celitia spoke gently. "It's about time to end all this."

Hearing Celitia's voice, Monica's perpetually hunched body trembled slightly.

Contrary to what Celitia expected, Monica didn't fly into a rage again or excitedly chase her away.

"I can't leave."

Monica gazed at the empty space ahead. "If I leave, when Yurian comes back, he won't be able to find home anymore."

"You know," Celitia's voice became even gentler, filled with empathetic grief, "he will never come back. No matter how long you wait here, this is all just a dream that must eventually end."

Monica silently listened to her words without arguing.

She simply began weeping.

"Let's go," Celitia extended her hand toward Monica. "To the edge of the dreamscape, to find a way to leave here and return to reality."

Monica dazedly was about to place her hand in Celitia's palm.

Suddenly, Celitia heard a tiny shriek beside her ear:

"Hey, bad person, don't touch her!"

A semi-transparent cloud condensed in mid-air, turning into a fluffy rabbit that shot toward Celitia like a cannonball.

"When you wanted to destroy the first two dreams, I didn't stop you. But this one is my last dinner—can't you just let me have a proper meal?"

Celitia looked up at the "rabbit" and found it both annoying and amusing.

This little dream demon actually dared to show itself before her and even turned the tables, calling her the bad person?

Celitia was quick with her hands, aimed at the "rabbit's" collision trajectory, and cupped her hands together harshly, accurately intercepting it.

"Wuwa?!"

The "rabbit" crashed headfirst into her palms, became dizzy from the impact, then was grabbed by its long ears by Celitia and held in mid-air.

"Who are you? How can you catch me??"

The "rabbit" was completely panicked, its limbs flailing wildly in the air, but it couldn't break free at all.

It wanted to change back to its original semi-transparent form, but no matter how hard it tried, even puffing up all its fur into a ball, it couldn't successfully transform back.

"Why can't I change back?! Bad person! Let me go quickly!!"
