Unrelated to bond strength but still tied to the Beastmaster... How complicated… Are evolution conditions like this even possible? Qiao Sang found herself doubting her own understanding.

“After further experiments with dozens more Fire Fang Dogs and their Beast masters, we finally identified a key point.” Liu Yao said.

“The Fire Fang Dogs that exhibited energy fluctuations all had extreme emotions toward their Beast masters, either deep hatred or absolute trust. These intense emotions seemed to push their energy into an extremely high concentration when suppressing evolution.”

“And once the energy was suppressed to this degree, the unique evolution fluctuation appeared.”

Qiao Sang suddenly realized:

“So the Fire Fang Dog’s emotions toward its Beast master played a crucial role in its ability to suppress evolution?”

“Exactly.” Liu Yao laughed, pleased with her conclusion.

Then, as if recalling something, his tone grew serious:

“But now we have a problem.”

“What is it?” Qiao Sang asked.

“These Fire Fang Dogs still haven’t evolved into Flame Hounds.” Liu Yao's voice turned grave.

“I’m certain that evolution into a Flame Hound is closely tied to suppressing evolution, but there still seems to be another missing trigger.”

“I called you mainly to ask if your Fire Fang Dog had anything different about it at the time. Was there something unique about it compared to the others?”

Qiao Sang instinctively glanced at Yabao, who was practicing meditation while simultaneously maintaining ten clones.

Sensing his Beastmaster’s gaze, Yabao opened his eyes and looked over.

Because he had trained himself to split his focus between his clones and main body, he had been listening to both Qiao Sang and the voice on the phone.

“Yap yap!”

Yabao barked excitedly, signaling that he knew what was different.

Then, proudly raising his head, he struck a cool pose.

The difference? He was exceptionally handsome!

Qiao Sang’s mouth twitched at the sight, but she quickly refocused.

If there was a difference… There actually was something. Qiao Sang pondered for a few seconds before saying,

“When Yabao evolved, he was only a little over three months old. Does that count?”

A Fire Fang Dog evolving after a year of training was already considered talented. Evolving at just three months was something no ordinary Fire Fang Dog could achieve.

The phone suddenly fell silent, and Qiao Sang could vaguely hear Liu Yao’s breath quicken.

Then, the call abruptly disconnected.

Just as Qiao Sang sat there, bewildered, her phone vibrated again, Liu Yao calling back.

She quickly answered, but before she could ask if the signal had cut out, Liu Yao spoke rapidly, excitement evident in his voice:

“You’re right! We ruled out so many possibilities but never considered age. Every Fire Fang Dog in our study that met the conditions and was on the verge of evolution was over a year old. If your theory is correct, you are the biggest contributor to this research!”

Before she could respond, he hung up again, apparently in a hurry to do something important.

Qiao Sang: ...

It had been a long time since she had seen Vice Principal Liu this excited… She sighed and turned back to browsing the points exchange menu.

Inside a research facility, Liu Yao strode urgently down the hallway and pushed open a heavy white soundproof door.

“There’s something we completely overlooked!” Liu Yao announced excitedly to the researchers inside.

Everyone inside stopped what they were doing and looked at him, including several Fire Fang Dogs.

Liu Yao’s eyes burned with intensity as he looked at the crowd.

“I just spoke to Qiao Sang, and she provided a perspective we had never considered before.”

The researchers’ eyes lit up, eager to know more.

“What is it?”

“What did she say?”

“Age!”

Liu Yao took a deep breath and declared, “Her Firefang Dog evolved when it was only three months old.”

The lab fell into silence.

Seeing their reactions, Liu Yao added, “I can vouch for its age. I saw Qiao Sang’s Fire Fang Dog before it evolved into a Flame Hound, it was indeed only three months old.”

The researchers exchanged glances.

After a few moments of silence, the oldest researcher in the room spoke in a deep voice, “Suppressing evolution is easy. Finding a Fire Fang Dog with extreme emotions toward its Beastmaster isn’t impossible either. But if we add the condition that it must be on the verge of evolution at just three months old… finding such a Fire Fang Dog would be nearly impossible.”

Liu Yao fell silent.
