Chapter 640: The Chosen Day 13 [Delusions of Grandeur]

Manu had entered her trap without even knowing that Emma had been on Chiron’s side all along.

Emma had long sworn herself, heart, body, soul and power to the glory of Chiron.

Manu’s six eyes were wide with the realization that he had just been smacked with.@@@@

It was incredible unbelievable that such a detailed plan had formed in Chiron’s mind.

He stammered a bit, "but... but I read your memories. All of them. You hid nothing from me!" He bellowed angrily.

Chiron, taking a stroll about him, shook his head, "really...? Did I hide ’nothing’ from you, or did I hide it from myself first?"

Chiron explained that in exploring the fate change system, he had come across an incredible ability that the system had and that was to Dual the system.

The ability was initially for his clone to be able to still function as him when he was away, but then he used it in another manner.

Firstly, unless he used a particular series of safe words, the main fate change system would never reveal itself.

From the main fate change system, he had taken the forgetting pill so that he himself coukd not remember his plans on the day he hide the guardian token inside Emma.

This was the reason even though Manu forced the memory booster on him, he could remember nothing.

It was because the memory booster was of the second fate change system, and that could never topple the power of the main.

Meaning that this time around, Chiron had gone as far as to fool and suffer himself for the growth of power.

Manu’s eyes was left open in shock of the revelation before him.

But there was more.

Chiron stated that he had set Emma’s command as the trigger for him to remember and it had worked that way.

He had only given himself one mission and that was to go into the fog of unbounded demise and meet Manu.

Dylan’s chest rose and fell in labored breaths, but his eyes burned with unrelenting vengeance. He staggered forward, each step a triumph over pain, over brokenness. Blood pooled beneath him, his body a wreck of flesh and steel. Yet his roar, raw and primal, split the air as he lunged forward with every ounce of strength left in him. "This is for DEAMON!!!"

The sword plunged deep into Manu’s chest.

*SLUSH*

In that moment, the world seemed to freeze. Manu’s body convulsed as the energy from the blade surged into him. It wasn’t just a physical attack; the sword was alive with a force that sought out his very soul.

Inside the mind space, Chiron smirked as he saw Manu’s form shudder. "Oh, feel that, Manu? That’s what death tastes like."

Manu’s consciousness writhed, his golden tattoos flickering as the blade’s energy coursed through his body like a swarm of voracious termites. The power was relentless, invasive, and unyielding. It tore through every layer of his existence, stripping him of his aura, his magic, and his spirit.

In the real world, the sword’s energy spread through Manu’s veins like wildfire, glowing faintly as it devoured him from the inside out. His limbs shook uncontrollably, his once-proud figure reduced to a trembling shadow of itself.

"No! I... am... eternal!" Manu roared, his voice laced with desperation.

Chiron laughed darkly. "Eternal? Don’t flatter yourself. Even gods fall, Manu. And you? You’re nothing but a snake with delusions of grandeur."

The energy from the blade reached its zenith, surging through Manu’s chest and into his mind space. It struck Chiron’s prison with precision, latching onto the soul that Chiron held down. Like ravenous beasts, the energy consumed Manu’s essence piece by piece, tearing it apart.

"No!" Manu screamed again, his voice fading, becoming weaker with each passing moment.

His form began to unravel, first his edges fraying into wisps of light, then his core dissipating like sand caught in a gale. The golden tattoos marking his body faded into nothingness. His once formidable presence was reduced to scattered particles, flickering briefly before vanishing entirely.

In his final moments, Manu looked at Chiron with a mixture of rage, despair, and relief. "You... planned this... Hahaha... Not bad. If you can even fall me, then I truly pity the gods..."

Chiron knelt beside Manu’s disintegrating form, his smile vicious and triumphant. "Planned it? Oh, Manu, I didn’t plan this. I OWNED this. And now...Well, you are right... like you are now, they... the gods... are nothing."

As Manu faded into oblivion, the world around them seemed to exhale, the oppressive weight of his presence lifting.

In the real world, the moment Manu’s body crumbled, the sword lodged in his chest flared one last time, releasing a brilliant, searing light...

(Author’s note: Chiron is probably the most enjoyable character in all my books. Trust me, even I do not want to meet such a person in real life.... SCARY!!!)
