Chapter 429: Bolu, The Kind Hyena man 3
Chapter 429: Bolu, The Kind Hyena man 3
Naturally, he took up his blade for revenge, and of course, to get back his daughter from those that had taken her.
Bolu, was a military man. to add to that, he had tasted war and the violence that came with it. Getting revenge should have been easy for him.
But certain complications had made his arrival on the location late. And when he managed to break his way into the military strong hold, he was shocked to see what was before his eyes.
You see the war had been dragged on for a very long time. War, in any age and time was not cheap. Soldiers were in constant need of equipment for war, weapons and all that kind of stuff.
This saw that the pockets of the Senate went dry fast, and soon, even the rations that the military had for themselves ran low.
having a serving military was not going to help any one. And so, in secret, the Senate opted for another option. It was one that if the public knew of its existence, they would flip crazy.
Yes, it was the old law of the jungle known as cannibalism.
Bolu had found that this military camp that he managed to reach was in fact an outpost for gathering civilians, betrayals and even those that had died during the war and converting them to rations for the war effort.
All this while, the good food they had been eating in the war front was actually their brothers and sisters.
Although Bolu had become a threat to the outside world, he still protected his own. The former owner of the orphanage had died during the raid that saw that Bolu lost Penelope, and so he took it upon himself to have the Orphanage under his protection.
The reason why the Orphanage was never renovated all this time was because he did not want it to be so. Its current state was a reminder to him of the suffering he had undergone and the love of his life that he had lost within these walls.
Time passed and the issue with Bolu’s son came up. Then again, the boy had had a very unusual birth. In fact, one might say that it was a miracle that he had survived.
for the time being, Bolu had kept one member of his bandit group at all times within the Orphanage so that he could continually feed his son with Spiritual energy, but after Bolu’s death, the bandit had stolen items of value from the Orphanage and fled the place.
At this point of hearing the story, Dylan could not help but ask, "In that case, if you loved him so much, then why did you do it. After all, you knew without him, this Orphanage would be without a protector. Why did you choose to save me, a HUMAN, than the one you love?"
Momo raised her head to him, staring at him with her beady beautiful eyes filled with tears. her ears were also down in sadness.
"Do you think I wanted to let you live? Do you think I wanted to see him... To see the man that I... To see Bolu die? Do you think that I wanted to be a murderer? I never wanted any of this. But... But someone had to stop him, and..." she sniffed, trying hard to hold back her tears, but they just kept on rushing down her face like a stream.
"...and when I saw him in that state. I realized that it had gone too far. I had allowed him go too far, and the Bolu I knew. The Bolu I cherished was already long gone. He was long gone..." Her voice faded into a whisper as tears fell from her eyes like a silent rain.
For a moment, Dylan did not know what to do, but he could not just look at a such a beautiful woman in pain and did nothing. Of course, he knew that he knew nothing of the kind of pain that she felt, but he could not help but suddenly pull her into an embrace...
