Chapter 1353 - 1352

Chapter 1353 - 1352

Chen Long was feeling tense. He had undertaken many dangerous missions in his life, but none made him as nervous as this one, because it involved his daughter. If he couldn’t save her, he didn’t want to live either.Guided by the phone call, Chen Long, accompanied by the stewardess, entered a house styled in Huaxia architecture. The house was very old, evidently many years old; such houses were common in Chinatown and had even become a characteristic trait.

The building was complex, with only dim lights inside, creating a particularly oppressive atmosphere. Now it was a den of dragons and tigers, harboring filth and evil, with an unknown number of enemies lurking within.

The front of the building housed a boxing gym, where many people were training. There were faces of Chinese descent and Caucasians alike.

Chen Long’s appearance attracted the attention of the people in the boxing gym, who all looked over.

Unbothered by their stares, Chen Long pushed the stewardess aside: "Let’s go."

As they walked, the stewardess warned him, "Officer Chen, I must remind you that you have provoked the wrong people. You shouldn’t have listened to Mr. Lin and made this wrong decision. You should have eliminated the target on the plane, then your daughter would be safe. But now you’ve placed both yourself and her in danger."

Chen Long replied coldly, "Do you think I’d kill an innocent person?"

The stewardess said, "People are doomed if they don’t act for themselves. If it were me, I’d kill him without hesitation instead of causing trouble for myself."

Chen Long stated, "I am not you. I am a police officer."

The stewardess chuckled, "How noble of you. If your daughter dies, she will be killed by your morality. I wonder if she would blame you, or if you would blame yourself."

Chen Long spoke sternly, "Shut up!"

The stewardess showed no intention of stopping, laughing, "You still have time to regret. Follow my advice and it may save both you and your daughter’s lives. I know what you’re contemplating, trust me, don’t do it!"

Chen Long coldly asked, "You know what we’re contemplating?"

The stewardess said, "Yes, even though we’ve only met for a short time, Mr. Lin left a strong impression on me. I don’t have confidence to persuade him, so I didn’t say certain things in front of him. It’s not his daughter who is in danger; but you’re different. You should prioritize your daughter above all else."

It must be said, the stewardess’s words hit Chen Long’s sore spot. Indeed, it was Chen Long’s daughter who needed saving, not Lin Fan’s.

The stewardess continued, "If I’m not wrong, you’re planning not to hand over the target, right? I can only say, you’re playing with fire. This isn’t Huaxia; it’s the United Kingdom. As the saying goes, a powerful dragon cannot suppress a local snake, especially a foreign local snake. You can’t afford to provoke them. Though I don’t know the exact identity of the opponent, their ability to mobilize the Guangming Organization, and our special action group, indicates strong power even in the United Kingdom. With just the two of you provoking such a formidable power, it’s practically suicide."

Chen Long asked, "What is your suggestion?"

The stewardess answered, "You can reveal the target’s identity to me now, and I’ll negotiate with them. What they want is merely the target; you are insignificant to them. With my influence, they certainly won’t trouble you."

Chen Long chuckled, "Why are you so kind to help us?"

The stewardess said, "I’m not helping you; I’m helping myself. If I botch this, I’ll definitely be punished by superiors later. Doing this is beneficial for both you and me. So, Officer Chen, while there’s still time, make your decision now!"

Chen Long replied, "Sorry, I don’t cooperate with criminals."

The stewardess was enraged, "You’ll soon regret this!"

While they were talking, they had already crossed the boxing gym and reached a small courtyard at the back. Chen Long glanced around and saw that the courtyard was surrounded by buildings with stairs leading up.

On the second floor of one of the buildings, a man stood by the railing, waving to Chen Long.

Chen Long led the stewardess to the second floor and walked up to the man.

The man smiled and said, "Hello, Chen sir."

Chen Long recognized the voice of the man—it was the same person he’d been speaking to over the phone.

Chen Long asked, "Where’s my daughter?"

The man pointed to the room behind him, "She’s right inside."

Chen Long demanded, "I want to see her."

The man smiled, "Don’t rush, tell me the identity of the target, and I’ll let you reunite with your daughter immediately. That’s the condition."

Chen Long chuckled, "You don’t think I’d just tell you, do you? Until I see my daughter, I won’t say anything."

The man said, "Chen sir, you seem to not quite understand your current situation. You’ve already entered our territory; you don’t get to make decisions anymore."

Chen Long looked around and saw people hiding in the shadows all around the hallway, even on each floor, all armed with guns—it was truly a den of dragons and tigers.

The man laughed, "Chen sir, surely you don’t think you can single-handedly escape this den with your daughter?"

Chen Long said, "I want to see my daughter first."

The man replied, "Alright, please."

The man felt confident that he had Chen Long under control and became easy to talk to. He didn’t worry at all about Chen Long causing trouble; now, Chen Long was effectively caught in a trap, and he could catch the turtle in the jar.

The man led Chen Long into an adjacent room.

In the center of the room, a girl sat on a chair, flanked by two black-clad men with guns guarding her.

"Daddy!"

The girl called out excitedly upon seeing Chen Long, her eyes turning red instantly. She wanted to rush forward but was afraid of the two big men beside her and dared not act rashly.

She was Chen Long’s daughter, Chen Ling.

Seeing his daughter unharmed, Chen Long finally breathed a sigh of relief and felt joyful, "Lingling, come here quickly!"

The man nodded to the two big men, signaling them to let Chen Ling go.

Chen Ling jumped up eagerly and ran to Chen Long, throwing herself into his arms. Father and daughter hugged tightly, overwhelmed with joy and tears.

Nearby, the stewardess spoke to the man, "May I have a word in private?"

The two walked aside.

The stewardess said, "This Officer Chen is not difficult to deal with; the person who didn’t come along is the most tricky. I suggest you deal with this person first."

The man asked, "Who is this person?"

The stewardess explained, "It was this person who disrupted our plan on the plane. Our three Death Warriors died at his hands. Currently, we don’t know his identity, only that his last name is Lin."

Upon hearing that Lin Fan had killed three Death Warriors, the man’s expression changed, "What do you suggest?"

The stewardess offered, "Give me a gun, pick a few skilled men for me. I’ll personally confront him. Only by killing this person can we feel at ease; you can handle Officer Chen as you wish."

The man nodded, pulled a gun from his waistband, and handed it to the stewardess. Then he gestured to a big man, whispered a few words in his ear.

The big man then went out with the stewardess.

Chinatown, the lights had just turned on, a bustling street scene.

The stewardess led several black-clad men, weaving through the street, arriving outside the restaurant where Lin Fan was dining.

The stewardess said, "You two go around to the back door; we’ll attack from both sides, shoot him on sight!"

However, when they went in from the front and back doors, attempting to surround Lin Fan, they found the restaurant completely devoid of him.
