Chapter 565 564: Gathering of Twelve (1)
In a dimly lit room where the source of illumination came from glowing runes that were etched into stone walls, their faint, flickering light cast long shadows over a group of twelve.
This was no grand throne room or opulent hall but was a simple, yet well-guarded chamber nestled deep within the heart of a buried, forgotten Temple of the Old Ones.
The floor was covered in dark stone tiles and the air smelled faintly of damp earth and incense. The walls were lined with shelves filled with scrolls, tomes, and relics that emitted sinister and ominous auras. At the centre of this room was a large, round, wooden table. Its surface was polished but signs of old age could be seen on it due to how old it was.
Around the table sat twelve individuals. These twelve individuals were Outsiders, and every single one of them was a powerful Tier 5. The combined presence of so many Tier 5s seemed to bend the very air in the room, causing a pressure that could cause an average Tier 0 and Tier 1 to die from suffocation to engulf the entire room.
Every eye was fixed on the centre, a golden unfurled scroll which was on the table. The orb had strange signs and symbols on it, and these signs and symbols strangely resembled the rune tattoos of the shattered dimension.
"After so long, we've been able to interpret the writings on the scroll." Malrik Tenebris of the Temple of Darkness was the first to speak. His voice was deep and strangely had a tinge of ancientness to it.
He was a man of imposing nature, his broad shoulders and towering presence were accentuated by the dark cloak he wore. His pale skin contrasted sharply with the inky blackness of his hair. He had steel-grey eyes, and his long hands which rested on the table were adorned with silver rings.
Sylva Morrel of the Hunter's Association sat to his right. She was a lithe woman with sun-kissed skin, sharp green eyes, and dark-brown hair tied in a loose braid. She wore a leather cloak lined with fur, and her quiver was adorned with talismans carved from beast bones. Purple runes and a silver rune could be seen on her quiver.
Seated to the left of Lucian was Zeran Aldric of the Scorching Sun Kingdom, and he was a man of few words. Unlike what most would think or expect of a Chosen of the Scorching Sun Kingdom, Zeran was a cold and calculating individual whose personality was nothing like the 'sun'.
He had golden-blond hair, bronzed skin, and sharp hazel eyes. He wore an ornate golden armour, and his cape was embroidered with the sun's sigil.
Alaric Ventris of the Mage Association sat next to Zeran. He had a scholarly air around him, dark brown hair that was cropped short, and his deep blue eyes which were filled with several symbols seemed to glow faintly.
He wore a deep midnight blue robe which was embroidered with silver thread that shimmered faintly like stars in the night sky. A high collar framed his face, and rune formations were etched along the edges. The sleeves were long and loose, allowing for freedom of movement at the wrists. A silver chain with small gemstones was draped from his shoulder which added a touch of elegance to his attire.
Hovering beside him was a black wooden staff with silver and white runes.
Darius Fenrir of the Werewolve Tribe sat next to Alaric. He was a rugged, beast-like man with shaggy dark hair, piercing yellow eyes, and sharp canine features. His muscular frame was adorned with claw marks and tribal tattoos that glowed faintly in the dim light. He wore simple, battle-worn leathers, and his claws glinted like polished steel.
Finally, sitting at the end of the table was Eryndor Castiel of the Supreme God Empire. He was a tall, lean but muscular figure with an aura of divine majesty.
His long, flowing white hair reached his back, and his pristine white robe was adorned with golden accents. A faint halo-like light surrounded him as he sat with his right leg crossed over his left, his head resting on his right fist, and his eyes closed.
Hanging around Eryndor's neck was a white chain with black runes on it.
