The royal guards immediately knitted their brows the moment that they heard this.
The looks on their faces made it clear what they were thinking.
They weren't wrong to think this since these Five True Witches of the Sea had attacked the Merman King, which was considered a major crime. Even if they used potions that weren't strong enough to actually hurt the Merman King, it was still a major crime to even attack him.
So they naturally didn't like what the former crown prince said.
Even though they reacted like this, the former crown prince didn't take back what he said. Instead, he was looking at the Merman King as if he was waiting for his answer.
The Merman King had a calm look on his face, not showing any emotions at all which made it hard for people to guess what he was thinking.
It was just that no one could do anything until the Merman King gave a response.

The Merman King looked at the Five True Witches of the Sea frozen in ice with that calm look on his face.
When the five of them saw him looking at them like this, they cursed at him and scolded him until their mouths were suddenly covered in ice. This ice blocked them from saying anything else, but the words that they said were already out there.
These were words that couldn't be taken back, these were words that could even be considered treason if they were said by a citizen of the Merman Empire.
The former crown prince seemed to relax a bit because of this.

The Merman King turned back to look at the Five True Witches of the Sea before saying, "If we leave them be, can you guarantee that they won't do something like this again in the future?" The former crown prince bit his lip upon hearing this, but he didn't say anything to refute it. It wasn't that he didn't want to refute it, it was just that he couldn't refute it.
If he were to refute it, it would be a lie since he didn't believe it either that they would calm down if they were let off the hook this one time. He knew that the five of them would do the same thing again if they were given the chance.
It was just that he didn't think that being punished by the Merman Empire was the best thing for them.
Doing this might actually make the relationship between the Merman Empire and the sea witches worse.
The Merman King put a hand on the shoulder of the former crown prince before saying, "I have my own daughter and she's definitely a handful, so I know how hard it is to deal with kids like this. So I think that I've come up with a good solution to teach them a lesson."
The former crown prince slightly knitted his brows, but he still gave a simple nod to show that he wanted to hear what the Merman King had to say.
However, the Merman King didn't give the answer right away, "There was something that bothered me earlier when we were talking about education. I felt that there was something missing from the school that we talked about before."
"Huh?" A confused look appeared on the face of the former crown prince when he heard this as he didn't know what the Merman King wanted to talk about.
The Merman King didn't seem to mind as he continued, "What I want is for you to become the principal of the new school that we will be setting up for the kids."
