It took a while for the talks to finish.
Since we were under the water, we could tell the time based on how much light there was around us.
We started in the morning when there was bright light filling the water.
When we were done, it was already getting dark.
The royal guards had gone back and obtained some sort of underwater lights to place around the area for us to continue our talks when it got dark.
Looking at them, it seemed like they were lights that were alive.
They were sea creatures that had some kind of phosphorescence to them that allowed them to glow like this under the water. They were trapped inside of some glass containers which allowed them to be used like lamps.
When under the water, it seemed that they used whatever they could.
I had to admire this kind of ingenuity.
After we finished the preliminary discussions, the Merman King suddenly said, "Let's go to the palace and have some dinner."
It seemed that after the bonding, he had forgiven his brother enough that he would allow him into the capital again. Though a part of that was also because this would count as the first case of diplomacy with the sea witches.
The former crown prince however had a different reaction.
After all, even if he had left the Merman Empire capital for a long time, this was a place that had been his home a long time ago. It was impossible for him to have completely forgotten all his feelings about this place.
It was the place that he grew up and the place where his family had been, so of course he missed it.
One might think that the former crown prince would do this with the help of the sea witches.
After all, he was someone that used to be in the line of succession and if he wanted his throne back, he would have to take care of the Merman King first...
But those doubts were soon dispelled by a laugh that rang out.
"Ha, ha, ha, they must have been blown to smithereens! Now they will all know the true power of the Five True Witches of the Sea!"
"Five True Witches of the Sea?" I asked in a confused voice before turning to look at the former crown prince and Zyra.
It wasn't just me who looked at them, it was also the Merman King, his family, and the royal guards that all looked at them. Though the royal guards seemed like they were more on guard than they were curious.
We could see that there were bitter smiles that were on the faces of the former crown prince and Zyra. There was also a bitter smile that was on Puffer's face.
This meant that they clearly recognized these people who called themselves the Five True Witches of the Sea.
After a moment of silence, Zyra waved her hand at Puffer who swam over to her side before they went towards the source of the voice.
The royal guards were about to stop them, but the former crown prince said, "This is an internal problem for the sea witches, so will you leave this matter to us?"
The royal guards seemed like they wanted to say something, but the Merman King just raised
his hand to stop them before giving a nod in response.
The royal guards still didn't seem willing to accept this, but they had no choice since the Merman King had already given his orders. So the only thing that they could do was surround
the Merman King and his family, ready to protect them at any moment.
When the smoke cleared, there were five figures that appeared out of the smoke.
These should be the Five True Witches of the Sea.
