Chapter 216: Can You Give Me a Kiss?
Chapter 216: Can You Give Me a Kiss?
Next time you see a pond or stream, make sure to gather more water and fill the pool sooner.
Maybe we could even raise some live creatures and add more variety to the food in the space.
Currently, the water source is too reliant on the Spiritual Spring Water.
If the supply is cut off, the entire space would come to a standstill.
She needs a more stable method of supply.
She can’t pin all her hopes on that small spring.
If natural water flow could be introduced, and the concentration adjusted with Spiritual Spring Water, the efficiency would be much higher.
Just thinking about those possibilities, she felt a bit of anticipation in her heart.
After finishing everything, she exited the space and looked up at Wyatt Yardley, who was holding her.
The air around them was cold and damp, but only the place where they leaned on each other carried warmth.
Wyatt noticed her gaze on his face, and his steps paused.
"What is it? Are you feeling uncomfortable?"
Seraphina Caldwell stared at his eyelashes, wet with rain, her face slightly flushed, and murmured softly.
"Wyatt... Could you... kiss me?"
The male was obviously stunned for a moment, then chuckled lowly, his chest gently vibrating.
A moment later, he slightly lowered his head, and his cold lips covered hers.
This kiss was much gentler than the last time during healing, softly lingering, filled with indescribable affection.
When her breath was almost running out, she reluctantly pushed him away, gasping for air and whispered, "Alright... The Spiritual Spring Water is enough."
Wyatt raised an eyebrow upon hearing her words, his voice slightly hoarse.
"You little rascal, so that was your idea, wanting to trade a kiss for Spiritual Spring Water."
He lightly bit her lower lip.
"But I’m not satisfied yet."
Before he finished speaking, he lowered his head again, pressing onto her lips.
This time the kiss lasted longer and was even more lingering.
Seraphina’s mind went blank, she could only passively endure his insistence.
Until her lungs couldn’t bear it anymore.
She slightly struggled in his arms, prompting him to gradually pull away.
In the front, Gideon Larkin had already stopped walking, his ice-blue eyes showing displeasure.
But he couldn’t bring himself to interrupt, so he irritably flicked his tail.
With a splat, mud splattered all over the path.
If only Seraphina could share a bit of her affection for Wyatt with him.
Evan Orwell stood on high ground, his gaze resting on the two people in the distance.
He had indeed signed a contract with Seraphina.
But her heart wasn’t with him at all, she wasn’t even willing to glance at him.
Kaelan Hawthorne silently lowered his head, his pale green eyes filled with envy.
He didn’t know when it would be his turn to bond with Seraphina.
...
Six people were desperately running towards the direction of the Rydell Tribe.
Wyatt’s arm was so sore and swollen he could hardly lift it.
But he still tightly held onto Evan and Henry Fairchild.
Evan clenched his teeth and persisted.
Even though he couldn’t keep up physically with the team, no one suggested he walk on his own.
The closer they got to the Rydell Tribe, the heavier Seraphina felt inside.
Memories uncontrollably surged up.
Seraphina suddenly spoke.
"Dylan, let’s land first. Let’s catch our breath, regain our energy before setting off again."
As soon as the words fell, the team’s speed gradually slowed down.
Dylan Sullivan immediately dove down, landing on a clearing, followed closely by Wyatt and the others.
The landing stirred up a cloud of dust, and someone coughed a few times.
Henry stumbled, and was steady only after Evan helped him.
Everyone stopped their steps and began to adjust their condition.
To avoid running into Beastfolk coming out from the west to hunt.
Several people picked a dense leafy tree, and after climbing onto a sturdy horizontal branch, they slipped into the space to hide.
As soon as they entered, everyone felt a wave of security.
Seraphina sat at the table, opened the map to compare positions carefully.
Confirmed that their current location was indeed in the safe zone outside Rydell.
She lowly reminded everyone that the next actions must be gentle.
During these five days, Henry only snuck in at night to soak in the reservoir.
Being exposed for long periods in the dry outside environment made it extremely uncomfortable for him.
Until now, soaking in the water, the coolness slowly relaxed him.
Fortunately, before leaving, Seraphina had stored several pools of clear water.
She quickly replaced it with new water, gently placing Henry into the pool.
Henry sank into the water, leaving only his nose above for breathing.
The water temperature was just right, nourishing his parched body.
"You have a good soak, don’t hurry, I’ll stew some fish soup for you to replenish, eat well today!"
Seraphina lifted the pot lid, steam surged up to her face.
The ceramic pot on the stove was bubbling, with freshly cut fish and wild vegetables inside.
Henry nodded at her, tail flicking and twisting in the water.
Dylan and Wyatt were also pressed by Seraphina onto the bed in the room, forbidden to move around.
"Lie down! Don’t worry about what’s outside, you have to conserve your strength."
The two originally wanted to argue a bit, saying they could still hold on.
But with a glare from Seraphina, they immediately fell silent.
The mattress was soft, and once lying down, the body involuntarily sank in.
Evan sat at the side, feeling complicated.
He thought it over and finally decided to go into the village alone.
As long as Seraphina didn’t show up, his mother shouldn’t do anything to him.
Evan came over to lend a hand.
The two finished the meal, then called everyone over to eat.
Everyone sat around the table, some lowered their heads to eat, some engaged in soft conversation.
Seraphina didn’t eat much, her mind focused on the upcoming actions.
She occasionally glanced at Henry, then looked at Evan, her brow furrowed.
Seeing they were about to leave, Seraphina became extremely anxious.
She walked over to Henry, extending her hand.
"Once more, help me check, will anything change next?"
Henry took her hand, gently pecking her palm.
"Don’t worry, I can feel it, everything is fine. You’re here, so am I, nothing will go wrong."
When everyone was ready, Seraphina led them out of the space.
Once everyone was in place, they looked around to ensure there were no unusual movements.
Wyatt stood by Seraphina’s side, his gaze falling in the direction of the Rydell Tribe, his expression serious.
Evan unexpectedly turned around, standing at the forefront.
"Alright, you guys just wait here. I’ll go on my own. My mother knows me, she won’t do anything to me."
Seraphina grabbed his arm.
"No! Henry said the Priest sensed danger too. At times like this, we can’t let you offer yourself up."
Wyatt pondered for a while, finally speaking.
"How about this, let Dylan and Henry accompany you into the Rydell Tribe. They used to know me and thought I was already dead, so I indeed can’t show myself again. I’ll stay outside with Seraphina."
Henry nodded after hearing, thinking the plan worth trying, pressing his hand on Wyatt’s shoulder.
He closed his eyes, concentrating, trying to sense the outcome of this decision in future fragments.
The surroundings immediately fell silent, no one dared to make a sound, all eyes on Henry.
After a while, he opened his eyes, shaking his head with a heavy expression.
"No, this path won’t work."
"How come it won’t?"
Evan frowned and asked.
"I can’t tell exactly where it’s stuck, but you simply can’t enter the Rydell Tribe. Your mother has no intention of seeing you. We just tried it in the vision, even if only Dylan took you in, she still wouldn’t give you the blood. There are too many people in the tribe, it’s chaotic, and Dylan has to look after me and you, can’t get close to her."
