Chapter 25 Obtaining Rewards
Chapter 25 Obtaining Rewards
The refining process went quite smoothly. It must be said that this crucible is a really good thing. Even without being bound, its effect is much better than the practice crucible that has already been upgraded.
He carefully controlled the balance of the medicine's properties with his mental energy using a pure silver stirring rod. For the first two batches of the medicine, he used pure water condensed by the [Water Creation Technique] to successfully refine two bottles of excellent quality calming medicine.
When Li Ang began refining the third potion, he felt that his mental energy was being consumed quite a bit, so he dared not risk using the [Water Creation Technique] again. Instead, he used the distiller in the workshop to make a batch of distilled water, and finally obtained a bottle of calming potion of acceptable quality.
Looking at the three bottles of potions on the control panel, Li Ang nodded in satisfaction. He then used his badge to press a summoning rune next to the task board.
Not long after, the workshop door was pushed open, and Ginny, Eve's female attendant, walked in.
"Apprentice Li Ang, is there anything you need?" Ginny asked respectfully.
"Ms. Ginny, I'd like to submit my commission." Li Ang pointed to the three bottles of tranquilizing potion on the table. "Tranquilizing potion, three bottles completed."
Ginny didn't dare to delay and quickly stepped forward. Her gaze swept over the three bottles of potions, and when she saw the pure, dazzling gold color and the abundant magical light inside two of them, her face was instantly filled with shock.
"Excellent... excellent quality? Two bottles?" She looked at Li Ang in disbelief, her voice trembling slightly. "You... you finished three bottles in one day? And two of them are excellent quality!"
"Yes, please check it out." Li Ang replied calmly.
Ginny suppressed her shock and carefully examined the three vials of potion. After confirming that everything was correct, her tone became even more respectful: "Absolutely no problem. Apprentice Li Ang, your skills are truly amazing."
She pulled out a small ledger from inside her large robe and began making calculations.
"As per the commission, the reward for each bottle of qualified tranquilizer is 1 silver coin. After deducting the material cost of 80 copper coins, you will receive 20 copper coins."
She paused and continued:
"Excellent quality An's divine potion... Although it's not written on the commission form, according to the tower's usual practice, the reward is 2 silver coins per bottle. After deducting 80 copper coins for material costs, you can get 1 silver and 20 copper coins per bottle. Your three potions together will be worth a total of 2 silver and 60 copper coins."
Upon hearing the amount Ginny quoted, Li Ang was instantly overjoyed.
Wow, wow! I earned four months' worth of monthly allowance in just one afternoon? At this rate, I could eat premium food every day from now on!
Ginny counted out the corresponding amount of money and put it into a linen bag.
"Li Ang's apprentice," Ginny added quietly as she handed over the small bag of coins.
"If you don't urgently need the money, you can actually choose to exchange it for school contribution points when submitting commissions in the future."
"Many rare materials, knowledge, and even the right to use special tools cannot be bought with money outside, but they can be exchanged within the school using contribution points."
Li Ang's heart skipped a beat. He took the money and nodded, "Thank you for the reminder, Ms. Ginny. I'll consider it."
After bowing again, Ginny left with the three bottles of potion.
After leaving Eve's workshop, it was almost dinnertime. Li Ang hummed a slightly off-key tune as he stepped into the cafeteria again.
The feeling of having money in his pocket made him feel exceptionally relaxed. His gaze habitually swept across the cafeteria, and he saw Lottie again.
She was in line to order food when Li Ang quickly stepped forward and stood behind her. Hearing some familiar footsteps, Lottie turned around and saw Li Ang behind her.
"Mr. Li... Mr. Li Ang, good evening."
"Good evening, Lottie. Have you found a suitable commission yet?" Leon asked casually.
Lottie nodded upon hearing this, trying to force a smile, but the smile looked rather awkward.
"Hmm, found it, a copying request."
Judging from her expression, Li Ang knew that this girl probably hadn't made much money after copying all afternoon.
Soon it was Lottie's turn to order. Because of Leon's presence, she was a little embarrassed to order the cheapest meal. Just as she was hesitating whether to splurge on a standard meal, Leon cut in line.
She didn't quite understand Li Ang's actions, but out of gratitude and trust for him, Lottie didn't mind being cut in line. She even thought that Li Ang must have something very important to do urgently, which was why he did that.
Li Ang said to the chef behind the window: "Two premium set meals, please."
Just as Lottie was wondering why Leon's appetite had suddenly increased so much, she saw him smiling at her.
In an instant, she understood what was going on. Her face was filled with flattery and surprise. She waved her hands frantically, saying, "No, no, Mr. Li Ang, this... this is too much of a burden for you. I... I can't accept it."
"It's okay, I just finished a commission today and made a lot of money."
Li Ang tried to reassure her, saying, "It's just a meal, it's nothing."
"Really, no," Lottie said firmly, shaking her head vigorously. "You've already...you've already helped me twice. I can't let you spend so much money for no reason. Thank you so much, but I can't..."
Your two premium set meals are ready. The chef seemed to have noticed the situation and, not wanting to let the business slip away, served the set meals even faster than usual.
Li Ang pointed to the set meal and said, "I'm sorry, Miss Lottie, the meal is ready. Please don't waste it."
Lottie's eyes were a little moist, but she held back her tears. "Thank you, Mr. Leon, thank you so much."
The two of them, carrying their trays, found a table near a corner and sat down amidst the envious gazes of the other trainee apprentices.
Perhaps it was the delicious food that softened her tense defenses, or perhaps it was Li Ang's repeated acts of kindness that built up her trust, but Lottie gradually became more talkative.
"Mr. Li Ang, you are such a kind person," she said softly, her eyes somewhat unfocused, as if lost in memories. "Besides my family... it's been a long time since anyone has been this kind to me."
"Are your family members very good to you?" Li Ang asked, following her words.
"Hmm..." Lottie nodded, her eyes dimming slightly. "Our family, the Polk family, is actually a very small wizarding family. Although it has declined, my parents, older brother, and older sister are all doing very well."
Li Ang's heart skipped a beat. A wizard family? He hadn't expected that.
Lottie continued speaking in a low voice, as if she were confiding in someone, or perhaps talking to herself:
"Sister Elisa is the eldest daughter in the family, and she has the best talent. She has a level 4 mental power talent. She is the hope of the family. She successfully joined the Wizard Tower a few years ago and is now an apprentice wizard of the Elemental School."
When she spoke of her sister, her tone lost its usual timidity and was filled with genuine pride.
"Brother Ackerman, he has a level 3 talent, which is not bad. He also came to the Wizard Tower two years ago to be an apprentice in the Stargazing School... But, I..."
Her voice grew softer and softer until it was almost inaudible: "I only have level 1 mental talent and a little bit of fire elemental affinity... I'm the worst in the family."
