Chapter 63 Castle Prohibition
That morning, Hogwarts students saw many people dressed in uniform robes appear at the edge of the Forbidden Forest.
They walked around Hagrid's cabin, completely surrounding the area.
Some students saw them sever a portion of their group and venture into the forbidden forest.
Headmaster Dumbledore stood next to Hagrid's hut, talking to another group of people who remained in place. Professor McGonagall and Professor Snape stood beside him.
At first, Harry, Ron, and Hermione thought something had happened to Hagrid and were extremely worried.
But they soon spotted Hagrid standing beside his hut, bending over and talking to the robed men, occasionally gesturing with his hand.
Harry noticed that Hagrid's gestures included a pointing towards the Forbidden Forest.
What happened in the Forbidden Forest?
Harry wondered to himself.
His doubts were quickly answered.
At noon, everyone was having lunch in the auditorium, discussing what had happened at Hagrid's hut.
Just as Harry was hearing the thirteenth confidently new story, the doors of the Great Hall opened, and a group of people in matching robes walked in.
Accompanied by Professor McGonagall, a middle-aged man who appeared to be of high rank announced to them that a dangerous and magical creature had escaped from the depths of the Forbidden Forest to the outskirts. Due to its unique danger, from now on, students could only move around inside the castle, and all activities involving the outskirts of the castle would be prohibited.
The students whispered among themselves, exchanging their thoughts with their friends.
Harry wondered to himself what kind of dangerous magical creature could warrant such a serious response from the school.
"What about the Quidditch match?"
"The Quidditch season is about to begin!"
Just then, he heard a student shout out.
Harry then remembered the sport he had been secretly training for several weeks.
The magic studies class every Friday and the Quidditch training three nights a week took a lot of effort from him; you could almost say he went to sleep every night with aches and pains all over his body.
Harry was filled with anticipation and excitement for the upcoming Quidditch match.
Like everyone else in the auditorium, he looked at the middle-aged man who was speaking.
Professor McGonagall stepped forward and answered the question: "I regret to inform you that all Quidditch matches will be postponed until the good gentlemen of the Department of Magical Creatures Control have caught that dangerous magical creature or confirmed that it has left the outskirts of the Forbidden Forest."
"What if it never gets caught, or never leaves?"
Harry heard Wood—the captain of the Gryffindor Quidditch team, who was also his captain—ask Professor McGonagall a question.
Professor McGonagall pursed her lips: "Then this Quidditch season will be canceled."
"What?!"
"No!"
"Merlin's baggy briefs..."
The auditorium erupted in chaos, becoming even noisier than before. Some people stood up and screamed, while others cried out in despair.
"Quiet!" Professor McGonagall raised her voice, and the auditorium fell silent instantly.
She swept her sharp selfie across the auditorium, and every student whose gaze fell upon her immediately buried their head and sat down at the long table.
"I hope that each of you will strictly abide by this ban."
No student may leave the castle unless accompanied by a professor!
Each prefectural head must take responsibility and strictly regulate the students in their respective colleges.
Until the ban is lifted, any unauthorized departure from the castle is strictly prohibited; anyone found doing so will be expelled from Hogwarts.
"
Harry's heart tightened. Having lived here for several months, Hogwarts felt more like home than Number 4 Privet Drive. The thought of being expelled for breaking the rules, leaving this place forever, and never being able to return made him feel sad.
Never violate this ban!
Harry made a silent vow in his heart.
Besides, such a large-scale operation against a magical creature must mean it is an extremely dangerous and deadly creature. Who would be so foolish as to run out knowing that such a dangerous creature is outside?
The first few days after the ban was implemented were fine; everyone could tolerate it and interacted with each other as usual.
But a week later, things started to change.
They were all teenagers, full of energy, but they were forced to stay in the castle. Their excessive energy had nowhere to go, and on several occasions, a little quarrel between the snake and the lion turned into a standoff between them with their magic wands drawn.
The professors had to patrol every corner of the castle to prevent students from fighting in secluded spots.
Every student was very restless.
They couldn't give a specific reason, but they really wanted to go out, even if it was just to walk around outside the castle gates.
But no one dared to defy the Ministry of Magic's ban, not even the Weasley twins, who routinely broke school rules as if they were nothing.
They may be mischievous, but they still have basic boundaries.
The people from the Ministry of Magic stayed at the edge of the Forbidden Forest and the grounds, and their numbers never seemed to decrease.
It's clear that this is no ordinary event.
If we jump out at this point, the consequences won't be something that can be easily dismissed with just a yelling letter from my mother.
In this situation, many people placed their hopes on Professor Lynch.
The reasons are as follows:
First, Professor Lynch's class needs to be held on-site. Last Friday, due to the ban, he simply canceled that class and gave them the day off.
Second, Professor Lynch is very powerful, a fact that even the little snakes cannot deny. He is the wizard who sent all the teachers and students of Hogwarts to the clouds, and he is also the professor whom Headmaster Dumbledore trusted to deal with the trolls on his own at the Halloween dinner.
Third, Professor Lynch has special privileges. A student once saw him return to his residence in the Forbidden Forest alone through his window at night. In fact, Professor Lynch is currently the only professor besides Headmaster Dumbledore who is allowed to go out alone at night.
In conclusion, only Professor Lynch currently has the power to safeguard his courses, take them away from the castle, and let them breathe the fresh air outside the castle after so long.
So, during the magic research class in the Great Hall on Friday, when Lynch announced that the class would only involve discussing one's own feelings when using magic, some students boldly suggested that the class be held outdoors.
"Would you like to continue running in the area outside the castle?"
Lin Qi looked at the eager faces in front of him, chuckled, and asked.
The thought of the pain and torment of running makes many people hesitate, but when they think about the days when they were almost driven crazy in the castle, they grit their teeth and nod.
Everyone looked at Lin Qi with hopeful eyes.
