Chapter 30 Enchantment Equipment
Chapter 30 Enchantment Equipment
The data on the panel began to flow, and the experience bar slowly decreased.
Soon, system notifications popped up one after another:
[Note: Your main class has been upgraded to "Arcanist" (Level 11)]

"The Enlightenment of Mysteries..."
Kane's mind stirred slightly as he looked at the description of this characteristic.
[Arcane Enlightenment: Passive.]
[Based on the character's current rank, gain the ability to construct spell models and cast spells within the corresponding ring.]
"In other words, one rank corresponds to one ring of spells, and the number increases with each rank thereafter."
Kane closed his eyes, quietly experiencing the changes after advancing to the next level.
Their thinking became clearer and sharper, and their perception of the ether in the environment was significantly enhanced.
More importantly, he felt that he had a more thorough understanding of the nature of magic.
"Would that make it easier to control lower-level spells?"
He pondered for a moment, closed the book, and walked toward the restroom in the library.
Lock the door, turn on the faucet-like device, and water flows out.
He subtly guided it with his mind.
The water rises slowly and then gently falls back down under control.
Sure enough, my understanding of "water manipulation" has deepened considerably.
It is also easier to control.
Before we knew it, an hour had passed.
Kane's expression shifted.
More and more water droplets were seen hanging in mid-air.
Gradually, it coalesced into a water mass about thirty centimeters square.
It has a volume of approximately one cubic foot.
Kane's lips curled into a slight smile.
"I have finally mastered the art of water manipulation."
"It seems that the efficiency of learning low-level spells will also increase significantly after the job rank is improved."
"Based on this, it might only take about a week to master an ordinary magic trick."
Bang, bang.
A knock at the door interrupted his thoughts.
Kane focused his mind, and the water slab fell to the ground.
Upon opening the door, I saw the intellectual receptionist from the Truth Library.
She said with a troubled expression:
"Sir, you've been using it for quite a while now. There's a customer outside who urgently needs it..."
Behind her stood a young man in a long robe, looking anxious.
He almost reached down to cover himself.
Kane smiled apologetically and stepped aside to make room.
He said "sorry," then turned and left the library, heading straight home.
He was in a very good mood.
Successfully mastering the "Water Manipulation Technique" was the third magic trick he learned after the "Mage's Hand" and the "Friendship Technique".
Although it is a zero-ring spell, it is of extraordinary significance.
However, the limitations of "water manipulation" are also obvious.
"We can only control the water we already have; we can't carry a bottle of water with us every time, can we?"
"But in rainy weather, this spell might have unexpected effects."
As he walked, he pondered the application and limitations of magic, heading towards his home in the Fifth District.
The carriages had stopped running, so he had to walk.
As he walked along a street with few pedestrians, he suddenly frowned.
"Is someone following us?"
He quickened his pace without making a sound, and the footsteps behind him also became more hurried.
Kane suddenly turned and entered a narrow alley.
But when he looked back, the street was empty, and the figure had disappeared.
It was as if everything that had just happened was an illusion.
"Is it a demonic cult? Or members of some other organization?"
Kane's mind raced.
The demonic cult has always been a major concern.
But at this moment, they are inside the city, with night watchmen, lantern bearers, and various mage towers guarding the area.
The other side should not dare to send high-ranking members to act openly.
So it's possible that his identity as "Kane" attracted attention.
Although he confirmed after entering the city that there was no wanted notice for his original self.
But before seeing Shar, he couldn't be completely sure that he was safe.
"Should we go see Shar the Lamplighter?"
He thought for a moment, then shook his head.
"If I were to see her, it would take me a long time to just explain how I survived."
"In that case, let's wait and see."
He suppressed his distracting thoughts and quickly returned home.
He breathed a sigh of relief after confirming that the money bag under the bed was safe and sound.
Despite incurring considerable expenses during this period, nearly three hundred gold coins remain.
"It's no longer safe to leave this money here; we should convert it into actual combat power as soon as possible."
……
The following day, at the Library of Truth.
Faced with Kane's request, the sophisticated receptionist politely declined:
"Your Excellency should be aware that the circulation of offensive spells within the city is strictly controlled."
"If you need it, we suggest you apply to a legitimate mage tower organization."
"This library only provides basic magic tricks such as the Magician's Hand and the Light Magic, as well as related theoretical books."
Kane thanked him and left without lingering.
"You can't gain experience from the same book repeatedly, and staying here will only yield less and less benefit."
"Since we can't get any first-level spells from here, it's time to consider joining a big organization."
"But it absolutely cannot be the kind of traditional mage tower that treats apprentices as laborers."
He stepped out of the library and no longer felt that faint gaze.
So they headed towards the alchemy workshop area.
This is a place where many down-on-their-luck mages and alchemists gather, and you can occasionally find some good stuff here.
Now that he's being targeted, he desperately needs some equipment to improve his strength.
"If only I still had my old leather armor and ring... never mind."
"I still have three hundred gold coins on hand, I need to spend them wisely as soon as possible."
Kane didn't rush to make the purchase.
Instead, he bought some gifts and went to visit Zena and Lady Weaver.
To his surprise, there was a long queue outside their shop.
He hurriedly left after buying a gray potion.
After the customers left, Kane went up to present them with a gift as a gesture of goodwill.
When Lady Weaver saw him arrive, she asked with a half-smile:
"Want one? It's a cure for your embarrassing secrets."
Kane paused for a moment, then smiled and shook his head.
He didn't notice Zena's hesitant expression.
"Ma'am, do you have any enchanted equipment suitable for combat?"
He asked.
"Yes, but it's not suitable for you."
"That's how the mist weaver answered calmly."
He added:
"If you want to buy combat gear, I suggest you check out the markets on the outskirts."
"Many adventurers sell their loot or homemade items there."
But don't get your hopes up too high; there are a lot of counterfeit goods there, and plenty of people have gotten ripped off.
Kane nodded to indicate that he understood, then turned to look at Zena:
"Can I invite Zena to come along? My sister and I haven't gone for a walk together in a long time."
A look of joy flashed across Zena's face.
Lady Mist snorted softly, turned and walked away, leaving behind only one sentence:
"Come back before the clock tower strikes its ninth chime."
"Thank you, teacher!"
Zena happily agreed and then followed Kane.
The two walked and talked, and soon arrived at the outer market of the alchemy workshop area.
Besides the alchemy workshop, there are also many people setting up stalls here.
Some were dropouts from the Mage Tower, some were unlucky souls who went bankrupt due to experiments, and others were adventurers returning from the Dark Forest.
The stalls displayed various herbs, unidentified biological tissues, murky medicines, and all sorts of equipment.
Zena asked with some concern:
"Kane, why do you suddenly want to buy enchanted equipment?"
"Just in case."
Kane smiled.
"Is there anything you want? I can give it to you."
Zena was initially delighted, but then shook her head seriously.
"No, I can't accept it. You've already helped me so much..."
She looked up at Kane, her eyes sincere:
"Is there anything you need? I'll give it to you when I'm able to."
Kane smiled:
"Then you'd better get stronger as soon as possible."
Before the real upheaval arrives.
He silently added in his mind.
"Um!"
Zena nodded emphatically, making sure to remember those words.
Kane began to carefully examine the goods on the stall.
Zena quietly followed beside her, no longer disturbing her.
Most of the equipment looked old and even had stains.
But based on his past life experience, he knew that these appearances were very easy to fake.
The true value of enchanted equipment can always be discerned upon close inspection.
However, upon closer inspection, most of the items were just ordinary weapons or armor.
"Are enchanted items really that rare?"
"Or is it only circulating within a select group?"
As darkness fell, the bells had already tolled eight times.
He walked past dozens of stalls, but still came up empty-handed.
Just as he was feeling somewhat disappointed, a stall belonging to a halfling caught his eye.
On the stall was a curved knife, the style of which was very similar to the weapon of the drow descendants he had seen in the Dark Forest.
Kane bent down and gently touched the blade.
The panel displays unknown attributes the moment the blade comes into contact with it.
But a chill spread from his fingertips.
His expression remained unchanged, but a hint of joy flashed in his eyes.
"Found it."
