Chapter 710: Dragon?
" They are dragons," Jayden mumbled, feeling two presences right outside the door of the building.
" Yeah, they actually came. I wonder if they are here to fight too. Why do you have enemies everywhere?" Hecate asked.
" Who knows, anyway, this is not the time to find that out," Jayden replied to her. Then he spoke in a loud voice: " The party is over, all of you can leave now. Thank you for attending this dinner party."
Some of the people had already left, but the ones who were waiting for something more to happen were a little disappointed.
They also began to walk out. Within a couple of minutes, the hall was almost empty with only Jayden and his family left there.
" Why don’t you come inside now, or are you planning to stay there?" Jayden asked. Then the two figures from outside walked into the hall.
They were both wearing robes, and it was impossible to see their faces, but one of them was a man while the other was a woman. After walking inside, they stopped some distance away from Jayden.
"..." Both sides stayed silent as if assessing each other’s strength, and after an entire minute, Jayden finally broke the silence:
" You have something to say? I don’t want to waste any more time here. Let’s just fight it out," Jayden spoke.
Among the two dragons, the male was definitely very strong. He must have lived for a very long time. The female was strong too, but she was a lot weaker than the male dragon.
So Jayden was sure that he alone would be enough to fight them both, even though it might take some time to kill the male dragon. But both of them didn’t move and just looked at Jayden.
" Hey Hecate, what’s wrong with them? Are we supposed to make the first move? Or maybe we can just leave?" Jayden mumbled near Hecate’s ear. He stood close to her.
Before there was no killing intent shown by the two dragons, but while Jayden was mumbling to Hecate, the female dragon released killing intent.
" Oh, so it’s finally starting. Both of you can attack me at the same time, but let’s move somewhere else. I don’t want to destroy this place," Jayden spoke and began to walk outside. He decided to finish the day with this battle.
’I think she is talking about the war that I had seen in my dream before I became a vampire,’ Jayden thought. Then he nodded: " Yes, I have heard a few things about it."
" In that war, many of our universe fighters had sacrificed their lives, even though they still weren’t able to defeat the forces from the other side of the universe.
Anyway, in that war, our dragon king had died too, so we needed a new king, someone to keep all the people together, someone who could stand at the front of our entire race and lead us towards prosperity.
The son of our previous dragon king had all the great qualities we needed in a leader. He was kind, smart, and talented, but he was not old enough and so was nowhere as strong as his father.
But there was no way we could have left the king’s seat empty for too long. So after a long discussion, the heir of the Draco family, Richard Draco, was announced as the future king of the dragons.
Of course, many weren’t happy about that decision, but there was nothing they could do about it since the majority of dragons supported Richard. Soon, Richard fell in love and married a woman.
Everything was peaceful, but after she got pregnant, both of them made a big choice that might have put the life of their child in great danger. It was a really big decision, big enough to put the entire dragon tribes into two opposing sides.
Then the ones who wanted to take the throne didn’t leave the chance, and in the end, Richard died while protecting his son. The son was sent into an orphanage away from everyone. He grew up here with a seal put on his dragon heart." With that, she finished her story.
"..." Jayden stayed silent for a few seconds, going through her words in his head. He had heard about Richard before, and from her words, Jayden could sense his role in the story.
" So where is she? And how does Sydney relate to any of it?" he asked but felt that he got a step closer to finding everything about his real identity, though he had several guesses in his head.
" Sydney is a dragon too. Have you never noticed anything strange about her?" the female dragon asked.
" Huh?!! She was? Yes, I had noticed her strange behavior many times. " Jayden spoke.
