Journey to the West: Man in heaven, working nine to five

#2167 - Double the reward

#2167 - Double the reward

The Buddha approached Chu Hao to inquire about the situation, as he needed to set a time limit for Chu Hao. Otherwise, Lingshan truly wouldn't be able to afford feeding and housing those million people.

"Chu Hao, I wonder how many days it will take you to subdue those demons?"

"How many days does Buddha think is appropriate?"

Chu Hao naturally understood the Buddha's meaning and questioned him in return.

"What do you think about five days?"

The Buddha tentatively asked Chu Hao.

"Buddha, if you want to subdue the demons in five days, we'll need at least three times the manpower. Are you willing?"

Chu Hao returned the question to the Buddha.

"This... then how about ten days?"

The Buddha naturally couldn't allow Chu Hao to arrange for more people to come, or Lingshan truly wouldn't be able to accommodate them.

"If you want to subdue the demons in ten days, the manpower will still need to be doubled!"

Chu Hao pretended to calculate and replied.

"It seems it will take at least fifteen days."

The Buddha naturally understood what Chu Hao meant.

"Yes, within fifteen days, I guarantee the demons will be completely cleared out!"

Chu Hao made a guarantee to the Buddha.

For the Buddha, fifteen days was acceptable, but he didn't anticipate the situation that would follow.

Logically, after Chu Hao brought his million-strong army to Lingshan and rested, they should have immediately begun deploying to subdue the demons.

However, Chu Hao didn't make any arrangements for three consecutive days, allowing all the troops to move freely and enjoy themselves.

Those heavenly soldiers and generals truly treated this as a trip to the Western Heaven, touring Lingshan and indulging in food and drink.

The Western Heaven Buddhas were envious of this kind of life, yet the Western Heaven had to guarantee all the supplies.

The complaints of these Buddhas were naturally relayed to the Buddha's ears through the big shots of the Western Heaven.

"Those heavenly soldiers and generals are treating our Lingshan as a place of leisure."

"They eat, drink, and play every day, and we in the Western Heaven have to provide them with food and lodging!"

"They were invited to subdue demons, not to be treated as lords."

Listening to the complaints of the crowd, the Buddha was naturally dissatisfied, but he had already agreed with Chu Hao.

"Chu Hao promised to clear out the demons within fifteen days. As for how to subdue the demons, we shouldn't interfere too much.

If he fails to subdue the demons in fifteen days, I will definitely hold him accountable and make him repay all the losses of our Western Heaven."

The Buddha explained to the people of the Western Heaven, asking them to be patient for the time being.

The reason why Chu Hao chose to stand still was not simply because he was very confident in subduing the demons, but because he was waiting for the reaction of the Demon Clan.

Maitreya Buddha and the Ten Demon Kings and others also began to discuss how to get rid of those demons.

"These demons are extraordinary in strength. We are now confronting the Western Heaven, but we don't have enough manpower to deal with them."

"Yesterday, the demons attacked one of our Demon Clan's bases and killed hundreds of our people."

"If this continues, our development will also be severely affected by these demons!"

Listening to everyone's discussion, Maitreya Buddha also seemed very embarrassed. Now they really don't have extra power to deal with the demons.

"It seems that to subdue these demons, we must rely on the power of the Heavenly Court. I heard that Chu Hao has been invited to Lingshan by the Buddha.

But Chu Hao and the Western Heaven have always had some gaps, I am afraid that he will not really subdue demons for them, so we have to find a way to contact Chu Hao."

Since both the Demon Clan and the Western Heaven did not have extra power to subdue the demons, then the problem of subduing the demons could only be handled by the Heavenly Court.

Maitreya Buddha and the Demon Clan saw that Chu Hao was standing still in the Western Heaven, and thought that Chu Hao had some grievances with the Western Heaven and was unwilling to take action.

So Maitreya Buddha sent someone to secretly contact Chu Hao and invite Chu Hao to the Demon Clan's base to discuss.

What Chu Hao was waiting for was for the Demon Clan to do so, and he deliberately created opportunities for the Demon Clan, so the Demon Clan naturally easily contacted Chu Hao.

Receiving the invitation, Chu Hao came to the Demon Clan's base, and Maitreya Buddha and the Ten Demon Kings warmly received Chu Hao.

"Thank you very much for the reminder from the Prison God. We have taken a favorable position against the Western Heaven. Our Demon Clan is very grateful to the Prison God."

Maitreya Buddha toasted Chu Hao, appearing very polite.

"Since you invited me here, there is no need to say polite words. It is better for us to get straight to the point."

Chu Hao naturally had no intention of exchanging any feelings with Maitreya Buddha and said directly to Maitreya Buddha.

"I heard that the Prison God was invited by the Western Heaven to subdue the demons of the Sea Eye. I wonder why you are standing still?"

In order to verify his guess, Maitreya Buddha asked Chu Hao.

"You don't know the relationship between me and the Western Heaven, I, the dignified Prison God of the Three Realms, how can I be driven by the Western Heaven? The matter of subduing demons is just to cope with it."

Chu Hao naturally knew what Maitreya Buddha was thinking and had already thought of a response.

"Although this makes sense, you also know that the people I bring are numerous, and the Western Heaven is too stingy. My subordinates have many complaints and have the intention to return to the Heavenly Court.

Relying on me alone, I can't subdue those tens of thousands of demons, this matter makes me very embarrassed."

Chu Hao pretended to be embarrassed, while shaking his head and sighing.

"It doesn't matter, our Demon Clan is willing to take out some materials to supplement the needs of the Heavenly Court. If the Prison God needs anything, just ask, we will try our best to satisfy."

Maitreya Buddha immediately expressed to Chu Hao that they were willing to pay some remuneration, so that Chu Hao could bring people to subdue the demons, which they could naturally accept.

"Since you have this intention, then I will not be polite."

What Chu Hao was waiting for was this sentence, and he immediately presented a list to Maitreya Buddha.

In this way, in addition to the Western Heaven, he can also get a reward from the Demon Clan, which is a big profit.
