Chapter 267 Sea of flames
Chapter 267 Sea of flames
A massive wall of fire rose into the sky, casting an intense glow that dimmed the eternal sunset. Figures within the flames screamed, while others laughed like maniacs. A pair of yellow eyes glowed intensely, their body radiating an immense amount of heat. The ground beneath them even began to melt from the extreme heat. Adorning their beautiful and curvaceous body was a stunning red armor.
This armor precisely withstood the heat, in fact, it shone even brighter than the flames themselves. In their hands was a beautiful blood-red sword, and their red hair billowed in the wind.
Eleanor stood proudly, her eyes cold and yet filled with warmth at the same time. There was nothing but dancing flames around her. Although she was extremely serious, in her heart, she was overly happy. She looked affectionately at her armor, feeling delighted. This was the gift she had received from the mini-event, an Ascended-ranked armor, more than enough for her current level.
The flames emanating from her body did not burn her skin; in fact, she felt rather cool. She nodded with satisfaction in her heart. Honestly, she hadn't expected her prize to be so high for her current ranking. In fact, she had achieved 14th place.
According to the details of her armor, fire resistance increased by 40%. The armor could even withstand a maximum of five hits from a Corrupted-ranked creature, which was absolutely incredible for her. Her worst enemy was her own flames, but with this increased fire resistance, she could abuse her affinity even more.
On the other hand, the armor was extremely beautiful and delicate, with a red bird decoration on its right chest.
Eleanor sensed an anomaly in the air as a huge swarm of oversized flies beat violently and recklessly towards her. She scoffed disdainfully as the flames around her stirred and consumed the disgusting flies. They screeched sharply before turning to ash. Her control over mana also improved significantly, and needless to say, her physical and reflexes also increased.
It wasn't an exaggeration to say that Eleanor from the second event was completely different from the one now, a brutal change. She could almost feel herself reaching Maximum-Gold.
Victoria was more of a bookworm; her intellect was the best in the whole class, and her fighting level was the worst of all. A smart girl with a great intellectual level, although she had her own advantages with magic, it was not her best pastime. Furthermore, she specialized in other things. Being from the Raven houses, she was completely normal, so physical training was not for her.
"Damn it!" A voice filled with hatred pierced Eleanor's eardrums. Gripping her sword tightly, she ran, flames from her body clinging to her. She flew through the sky like a meteor, small flames breaking off and falling like rain onto the bastards on the ground.
A beautiful contrast, the eternal dawn was bathed in rocks falling to the ground. Eleanor's body spun at great speed, the air around disappearing.
BOOMM!!!
A hurricane of fire danced with brute force through the burning forest, causing destruction and most importantly of all, unbearable heat.
After a few moments, Eleanor stood elegantly on the ground, her red hair ceasing to emit flames, and the armor on her body disappeared. Her yellow eyes gleamed as she looked around. After not sensing any hostile presence, she let out a sigh of relief, took out a bottle of water, and brought it to her red lips.
The cool liquid flowed down her throat; she was very dehydrated because she had to drink a lot of water. She calmly walked towards a trunk that the flames were slowly consuming.
"Can I sit with you?" a male voice surprised Eleanor, almost causing her to drop the water bottle in fright. She looked back with wide eyes and breathed easy. "Sure," she said with a small smile. She was tired; she had only had to fight against three bastards, and having a classmate by her side would be a great help.
The boy had wheat-blonde hair, his red eyes gleaming as he looked at the destruction around him. He sat with a smile next to the fiery beauty. "That was amazing," he commented, looking at the sea of flames in front of him.
