Chapter 217 Swamp

Chapter 217 Swamp

The red eyes of Emily scrutinized the inhospitable surroundings around her: a tundra, a challenging and unwelcoming biome. She stood on vast, semi-flat terrain, covered in moss and grass. The weather was icy, with a penetrating cold sensation that seeped into her bones. Emily furrowed her brow, gazing at the ocean stretching behind her, dominated by massive icebergs.

She had crossed this vast ocean from the other biome she had been in, building a boat and sailing for five long days.@@@@

In the distance, she spotted small mountains. Emily checked the inside of her ring, where she kept some high-level items and three unique objects. With determined steps, she walked across the moss before her.

"Tell me where you've been in this swamp," Anthony asked as they trudged through the muddy land, surrounded by massive roots and deformed trees under a grayish sky. The landscape was dotted with puddles, and the presence of seven-meter-long crocodiles. The reptiles watched them curiously, their eyes fixed on the three individuals.

Estefany pursed her lips and cautiously replied, "I haven't been in this part. I've already traveled through the southeast." She kept a vigilant eye on the crocodiles, which began to emerge from the water but remained motionless, watching them intently. Anthony examined them closely, sensing that their presence had a purpose.

He paused for a moment, slowly approaching the reptiles, who seemed to be guarding the lake behind them.

The enormous crocodiles bared their teeth, but strangely, Anthony sensed a hint of kindness in them. They made no hostile moves as he approached. However, the ground trembled beneath his feet, and the waters behind the reptiles stirred slightly.

After this, the serpent turned its head, showing its back as if indicating that it had finished.

Daniela gazed at the black cube floating in the air, suspended in the middle of a large gap between two imposing mountains. Below her feet, she only saw a vast, dark void. She stood on a piece of rock that seemed to float in the air, and noticed many similar rocks scattered all around, defying the laws of gravity as they hovered in the air, moving slightly.

Looking up once more at the black cube above, she furrowed her brow with determination. She tried to channel her magic, but frustratingly discovered she couldn't invoke any magical energy in this place. It had been three days since she arrived there, and though she had been trying to ascend towards the cube, she still found herself at a considerable distance from reaching it.

Daniela looked at the rock in front of her, sighed, and prepared to make another leap.

Eleanor soared through the skies with some wounds on her body, followed by some creatures of Maximum-Gold rank. Her luck changed when she fell into a trap, a situation she hadn't anticipated. Before that, she had arrived at some ruins high in the sky, a fragment of floating land holding a circle of stones forming the ruins.

Upon entering that ancient place, she encountered imposing statues of angels adorning the hallways, and saw several images of Angels being detained by demons or vice versa. At the top, a pair of golden wings shone, catching Eleanor's attention; they were atop a transparent crystal.

Unaware that it was a simple projection created by the light emanating from a crystal high in the ruins, Eleanor reached out her hand to grab the golden wings. At that moment, the statues surrounding her shattered into pieces, revealing the true nature of the place and trapping her in a trap that left her vulnerable and exposed.
