Chapter 478 – New Capsule’s Development

Chapter 478 – New Capsule’s Development

July 22nd.

After the usual morning exercise, Max received a call from StoneSword.

"Can you go to New Eden City right now? I need you to test something."

"Is it done?" Max asked with a hint of excitement. He wiped his sweat with the towel he brought from home.

"The prototype is." StoneSword answered with a nod, "We just need to have a final testing. Maybe we will finish it in a week, right before the Streamer Wars if there is nothing wrong with the system. We have developed it for a long time so I am sure it will work perfectly."

"Awesome." Max grinned. "Anything I need to bring?"

"Bring Lily with you too. I want to see her compatibility with the new VR Capsule. After all, we developed it for her."

"That goes without saying. I will be there in the afternoon.

"Okay. Just stay in the Biozone Hotel. I have already made a reservation with my name."

"Sure, see you there."

Max hung up the call and smiled broadly. He returned to his apartment to get ready, explaining briefly to Lily that they had to go to New Eden City.

Half an hour later, they went to Sky Rail station and departed. Lily liked using the Sky Rail to travel. All this time, she would always use a private jet and that became boring.

The moving scenery, the clear sky, and the beautiful greenery underneath their eyes felt surreal to her. It was something she had never experienced before until she started traveling with Max.

Unfortunately, that trip ended pretty soon. New Eden City was in sight already.

They stepped out of the station and went to the Biozone Hotel immediately. Max was already used to it. He had filled Lily with what he heard from her brother, StoneSword.

"Soon, you will be able to play just like how you used to be."

"Un. I am looking forward to it." She smiled brightly at him.

Entering the hotel, Max was about to go to the receptionist to check in.

"Lily!"

However, a voice made them stop on their track. Looking toward the source of the voice, a woman whose blonde hair was making an amazing drill waved her hand. She took off her sunglasses and smiled at them.

"Sister Rebecca?" Lily gasped in surprise. "Why are you here?"

Rebecca beckoned them to come over and they did as she was told. Max also knew Rebecca since his company’s relationship with StoneSword was pretty deep, after all.

"Peter can’t come so I am the one greeting you today. We will go to the lab together." She said and explained what she was doing.

As a reporter and StoneSword’s fiance, she was given an exclusive right to interview him regarding the newly developed VR Capsule. It had only been a few years since the latest one was released and now, Spencer company has already released the next model.

If the news was spread, it would become big news. Developing a new VR machine wasn’t as easy as it sounded. Only by spending a lot of resources and time would they be able to do it.

"Then, please check in first. I will call my driver to pick us up. Fufufu, this is an opportunity for me to get exclusive news for this project." She said excitedly while chuckling lightly.

They checked into the hotel and went up to the room where they left their stuff and freshened up before going out. Once they arrived at the Lobby, the car called by Rebecca had arrived and they entered. Max naturally took the seat beside the driver, letting Lily to talk with Rebecca, her sister-in-law, easier.

He was an understanding boyfriend. He knew Lily wanted to ask about her brother’s condition and how he was doing lately.

Walking into the lab, StoneSword immediately checked and questioned the researchers inside.

"We are done preparing everything, sir."

"Can we begin testing now?"

StoneSword nodded after hearing the report from the researchers. He beckoned Max and Lily to follow him to one of the stations where many hologram panels were installed in a circular formation.

"We can do it right now. This is the control panel that will monitor your body condition and brainwave during the test. First of all, we will do a test with Breeze alone as we need to configure the setting. After that, we will test Lily’s compatibility with the new machine."

"Is there something I need to do or prepare?" Max asked while observing the control panel.

A complicated look could be seen on StoneSword’s face as he stared at Max, "That’s... There is no preparation you need to do. However..." He looked hesitant to continue.

"However?"

"Be prepared for a slight pain. We created a VR Machine that could administer Nutritional Supplement and nutrients through the skin via direct contact using a patch, but it needs to connect directly to your bloodstream. A substance necessary to keep a body at peak condition. It could increase your energy, improve brain activity, and lower stress levels."

"In short?"

"By theory, people could stay inside virtual reality for a week without a problem using this machine. However, I don’t recommend it. First, it’s unknown if the body could take it without deteriorating."

StoneSword explained with a sigh. "Another issue is the effect on your skin. The patch contains the nutrition and substances needed for the human body but it could make your skin pale if you use it too often. But with this, theoretically-"

"I understand what you’re trying to say, but... Is it safe?"

Max interrupted him before he could say anything more.

Realizing that he was about to go off-topic, StoneSword nodded and continued with a calm expression.

"Yes, of course. This is completely safe. After all, I wouldn’t do anything dangerous to my own sister. I created this machine for her."

"That’s all that I want to hear." Max nodded in satisfaction and grinned. "Well then, let’s test this immediately. Lily, are you okay with it?"

"I am fine." She smiled softly before nodding her head in approval. "Let’s try it, brother."

"Okay."

Nodding, StoneSword ordered all the researchers in the room to prepare the machine. He made sure everything was good before taking Max to where the new capsule was.

"Here it is."

The capsule looked different from the one that Max used. It was bigger and bulkier due to all the new components and items installed on top of it. That being said, it still retained its normal size that looked like it could contain Max’s body.

Without hesitation, Max entered the capsule and wore the helmet. He placed his trust toward StoneSword, not a single doubt in his heart about this new virtual reality machine. After all, it was designed and developed for Lily’s use by a siscon. So he didn’t expect it to have any flaws in it.

"Alright. Whenever you’re ready."

"Do it."

Max heard a voice through his headset before feeling the sensation of falling into darkness.

A few seconds later, he found himself inside an empty white space that resembled the Synchronization Test.
