Chapter 443 – Next Assignment!
Chapter 443 – Next Assignment!
Finding a quiet place, Max opened the paper and read the content. There was a number #5 written above a series of instructions.
1) Gather ingredients to make fried rice
2) Cook fried rice for guests in the restaurant. You have to convince them since it's not on the menu! (PS. We have prepared a kitchen in booth 5, please use that one.)
3) Gather 5 'Good Job' medals to finish the instruction. Bring the medals to Mr. Strange to finish the first game!
Max wanted to shout when he read the instruction. In summary, they had to open a restaurant, cook for the guests and get 5 medals from those guests to finish the game. They probably got this instruction because they got the restaurant area paper.
'The other must've had different tasks to finish.'
The problem was, he didn't know who had medals. Were all guests in this resort had it? Or only those special guests from the show had the medals.
It was unknown... Or so he thought before Lily called out to him.
"Max, is that the medal?"
She pointed at a booth with a sign 'Medal Exchange' written on top. Many people exchanged their money in that place.
10$ for 'Good Job' medal, 5$ for 'Do Your Best' medal, and 1$ for 'Thank You' medal.
Max now knew what those medals meant. They were currency in this resort. But, there was a problem.
'10$ fried rice?'
Who would buy something like that? The meal around here was just 0.99$ or 4.99$. They were already cut by the entrance fee to the resort. No one would spend 10$ for a simple fried rice.
'Wait, there isn't a rule to sell only 1 fried rice for $10. Our task is just to gather 5 'Good Job' medals. As long as we make $50, then that's it.'
And getting money from opening a restaurant wasn't all from selling the main dish. They could also sell their service.
"Lily, let's buy the ingredients quickly and head to booth 5. I have an idea how to clear this task as fast as possible."
"Un! Let's cook!"
"Call a friend."
Somehow, that smug grin made him look sillier than usual.

Call a friend.
It was a move often used in a quiz in Max's past life. When one was in a pinch, they could use this move to ask help from a friend.
There was no guarantee the said friend would answer or knew the answer to that question. However, Max's friend was overqualified for this. That friend would answer and would definitely have something he desperately needs right now.
15 minutes after he called a friend, that particular someone arrived while holding a bag full of groceries. The bag was filled to the brim with white onion, soy sauce, fresh eggs, and even green onions.
"Are they good?" A brown-haired girl asked curiously as he watched Max take out the groceries and lined them up on the table.
Looking at everything he had, he nodded in satisfaction.
"Yeah, they're good. Thanks, Nina."
"Un, you're a lifesaver." Lily added with a smile.
"Hahaha, I did nothing significant. I just took them from my dorm. Besides, you paid me twice the price and even sent someone to fetch me. This is the least I can do to help a friend in need!"
Indeed. The lifesaver, the friend who was overqualified to help in cooking preparation was Nina. Max knew she would have those simple ingredients in her fridge.
"Also, do you need help cooking? I doubt both of you can handle... those." Nina looked out of the booth where a line was formed before the booth even opened.
Some people had recognized Max and spread the news online. If he didn't stop them early by saying there wasn't much stock, the line would get longer than it was now.
Even so, he could see more than 20 people lining up, waiting for him to open.
"Right... There is no rule of not getting help, so please handle the order with Lily. Teach her how to take orders and deliver the food to the customer, please."
"You can leave it to me!" Nina exclaimed confidently.
