Chapter 189 City [6]

"How long do we have to walk?" Panting, Elysia grumbled, looking at me while placing her hand on her waist.

"Just a little bit, and we should be able to reach that place," I replied, glancing at the building we were aiming for to rest.

We had been walking the whole day, and in between, we also encountered higher levels of blood beasts, but with the help of our new slave, we were able to kill them.

"When are we going to have a bath?" Nadya grumbled, walking beside me, making me look at her.

"...Just bear with me for a while," I replied with a smile, rubbing her back.

She nodded softly as I looked around the place.

The darkness that had already engulfed the area was now getting even darker as the night was arriving.

"Sigh..."

With a tired sigh, I moved in front as we closed in on the building that was taller than most of the buildings in the city.

"Neil," Nadya whispered, making me look at her.

"Yeah."

"Tonight?" Smiling mischievously, she asked, winking at me.

"...I don't think it's a good idea—."

"Maid cosplay."

"Tonight," I replied, changing my words as she giggled softly.

"Anyway, I seriously need to take a bath," she muttered as we arrived in front of the building.

Nodding my head, I opened the door of the building, walking in with both the sisters and Linda walking behind me.

The inside of the building was dark with no source of light to look around.

With nothing to see, I pointed my finger up before a small flame started to brighten up the area.

"Don't you feel uncomfortable using mana?" Elysia asked, glancing at the flames.

"No, it's not that hard for me," I replied as I looked around the place.

And as I noticed the old furniture and other items, I quickly turned my gaze towards Nadya.

"...Want to look for a shower?" I questioned, and she quickly caught up to it.

"Yeah, let's go. You can help me look for one." Smiling widely, she interlocked her fingers with mine, walking deeper into the building.

"Hey, you can't just run away on your own," Elysia grumbled, blocking our way while glaring at both of us.

"Hug~."

Grinning, Nadya stretched her arms, making Elysia back away with a disturbed look on her face.

And as soon as we got away, we quickly walked away.

"Nadya." I walked away from her, saying her name, as she looked at me, puzzled. "Go back to where Elysia is."

"What happened?"

"Just go. I'll come back to you in a while."

"Can you tell me—."

"Nadya," I interjected, making her stop. "Please."

"....Just shout if you need any help." She grumbled as she walked back towards Elysia.

"Thank you," I whispered as I looked into the dark interior of the building, where I heard my name being whispered.

"Ne...il.."

Once again, I heard my name, confirming I wasn't hallucinating.

"Haah..."

Taking a deep breath, I slowly walked towards the sound while igniting a small flame on my finger.

"Hello..." I whispered back as I ascended the staircase.

With little light, it was hard to look around, but I tried my best to find the source of the sound.

"Wh...ere...are...you..."

The voice resonated in my ears once again, making me glance around the place in panic.

Sweat trickled down my forehead as I slowly climbed the stairs, but I couldn't find the source of the sound.

"Hello," I whispered again, but still, I didn't get any response from whatever was calling me.

"Wh...ere...are...you...Neil.."

Again, I heard the voice, clearer this time, without any problem understanding it. It was a female voice.

Continuing upwards, I quickly arrived at the door to the terrace before twisting the doorknob and opening it...

As soon as I opened the door, my gaze immediately fell upon the woman standing right at the end of the terrace.

Her black hair was fluttering around with the passing wind, covering half of her face.

She wore a white gown that covered her entire body, while her golden eyes met mine without any hesitation.

Without me knowing, I took a step forward towards her to have a clear look at her face.

"Hey!"

But just as I took a step, she stretched her arms before letting her body fall down the building.

"Fuck..." I dashed towards her as fast as I could, but even when I tried, I couldn't save her in time.

However, not hearing the sound of something hitting the ground, I glanced downwards, looking for her body.

"Ahh, fuck me." But instead of her body, I found a horde of blood beasts slowly waking up from their hibernation.
