Chapter 478: The Villain’s Nightmare Is Here

As Chiron stood up, his eyes, a searing molten red, scanned the battlefield. His dark aura continued to ooze out like vapor, wrapping him in an impenetrable shroud. He radiated an oppressive, suffocating energy that made those around him feel like they were in the presence of the Grim Reaper himself.

But then he saw him. Knight Sheyi. Clad in full bronze armor, save for his face, he was making a steady advancement, his heavy boots echoing ominously off the stone floor. Chiron’s heart skipped a beat.

Fear. It gripped him with a force that was both mental and physical. His breath hitched, and a cold sweat broke out across his skin.

Memories of their last battle flashed before his eyes: the relentless onslaught, the agonizing pain, the feeling of his life slipping away as Knight Sheyi’s curse threatened to decay his very essence.

His body reacted instinctively. His muscles tensed, and he felt a shiver run down his spine, as if icy fingers were tracing his vertebrae. His legs felt heavy, rooted to the ground, and his usually quick mind seemed to stutter, caught in the vice of sheer terror.

The fire in his eyes dimmed slightly, overshadowed by the shadow of the Knight’s impending presence.@@@@

He could feel his heartbeat thundering in his ears, each beat a drum of doom. His hands, usually so steady, trembled, the dark aura around him flickering with his fear. He could taste the metallic tang of blood on his tongue, a reminder of the chaos around him, but it did nothing to ground him. His vision narrowed, focusing solely on Knight Sheyi, who seemed to grow larger and more menacing with each step.

Chiron’s mind raced, desperately seeking a way out, a strategy to counter the looming threat. But the fear was a heavy, suffocating blanket, smothering his thoughts and squeezing his chest.

The memory of Sheyi’s curse, the way it decayed everything it touched, was like a phantom pain, haunting him and making him feel as if his very soul was withering.

His body betrayed him further. His breath came in shallow gasps, his throat constricting. The air seemed to thicken, each inhalation a struggle. His pulse pounded erratically, a staccato beat that resonated with his mounting dread. He wanted to move, to attack, to do something, but his limbs felt leaden, as if weighted down by the ghostly grip of his memories.

Knight Sheyi’s face was etched with a look that sent chills down Chiron’s spine.

Chiron’s mind screamed at him to fight, to run, to do anything but stand there frozen, but his body refused to obey, paralyzed by the sheer force of his terror.

His confidence, his strength, all of it seemed to crumble under the weight of his fear. He was trapped, not by the physical presence of the Knight, but by the shadows of his own mind, the echoes of a battle that had nearly claimed his life.

Chiron’s body appeared burnt and injured. Some of the flames still burnt on his body.

However, this allowed him to escape what would have surely been a definite death.

Then again, it had been at a very expensive cost. That attack had used up all his spirit energy in his spiritual energy Dantain.

However, through the flames, Knight sheyi stood unarmed.

His figure was that of a hunter, enjoying the sight of his prey.

The flames danced in his armor but could not get through.

He had focused his power, more on protecting his men from the Holy Church, while Abel had protected Prince Victor and Emma.

Chiron knew without a doubt that the blast could not hurt Knight sheyi. After all. He was a rank 3 Bronze knight, and Chiron was only in the first rank, but he needed to try either way.

He coughed up a mouth full of blood. He had suffered both internal and external injuries.

"Before me, your tricks are but a baby’s amusement." Knight Sheyi spoke, his voice thundering not just in the environment but also in Chiron’s head.

Chiron might have sacrificed all the Spiritual energy in his dantain. But he still had his Death aura.

At least that was what he thought.
