All that happened in the end was that the corruption energy was purified by the ice that surrounded it.
There was nothing that the corruption energy or the corrupted sea creatures could do against this ice.
It was ice that was made from divine energy, so it wasn't something that could be broken that easily.
After all of the corruption energy was purified, the ice shattered with a single thought from
me.
Only after seeing all of the black corruption energy disappear did everyone let out a sigh of relief and let their guard down slightly. But they quickly came back to their senses and raised their guards again as they moved around the surrounding area.
With the way that the royal guards patrolled the area, it was as if they were searching for something.
Half of them carefully surveyed the surrounding area while the other half protected our group around the Merman King. They didn't seem like they were planning on letting us move around more than a few inches from where we currently were.
Only after they finished searching the area did they finally let us move around.
"Your majesty, it's clear." The leader of the royal guards reported.
The Merman King just gave a simple nod before moving to where the corruption energy had been previously. It didn't seem like he was afraid that there might be a trace of the corruption energy left where it had been previously.
The royal guards revealed traces of bitterness on their faces, but they followed him with their weapons raised just in case.
Even though they had already searched that area, they didn't dare let their guards down for even a moment.
This helped remind the Merman King why they had avoided the sea witches all this time, but at the same time, it also made him glad that they had made up with the sea witches. After all, the research of the sea witches was more advanced than their Merman Empire.
As the head of the nation with access to the intelligence reports, it was only natural that he knew all of this. At the same time, he had to admit it after seeing the magic that the Puffer and Zyra used.
They had stopped the corrupted sea creatures when they couldn't, even if it was temporary. So it was clear what the Merman King had been thinking when he looked at Puffer and Zyra. After giving this order, he turned back to us and said, "Let's head back while they clean up. There's nothing left for us to do here."
I gave a simple nod in agreement, but I still had my brows slightly knit as we headed back.

The trident could also purify, but it couldn't contain the corrupted sea creatures like the relic that I had. So even if they were able to hurt the corrupted sea monsters, they wouldn't be able to take them down completely.

"You're overthinking it, we're not that simple, we can't do something like taking down the corruption without your help." The Merman King suddenly said this to my surprise.
I looked over at him and he used his actions to prove it.
Pointing the trident in front of him, there was a ball of water that was formed at the tip.
This ball of water was different from the stream of water that was released, this ball of water was tightly sealed and could trap things inside of it.
With this ball of water, it wouldn't be a problem to take down the corrupted sea creatures.
Only, why didn't he use it earlier?
