"So our prayers didn’t go unheard by God after all."

"God is blessing us since we removed the evil from the world."

"Finally, we can live such a life."

Their whispers rang out, after waiting for a few seconds Jayden spoke again:

"I will give you all that, but I can only give it in the hand of a person who has never committed any evil act, and is as pure as a newborn baby."

The people fell silent as they looked around at each other, none of them were like that after all.

Whether big or small, they have all committed some kind of evil act, no one had the guts to step forward.

"Riches, strength, eternal life, you will get everything if even a single person who has never sinned before steps forward, but if no one comes forth, I’ll erase all your sins with this fire from Hell."

Jayden’s loud voice rang out among all the people, their joy soon turned to horror.

"Y- You are called innocent by everyone, step forward." An old woman spoke as she pointed her finger towards a middle-aged man.

"No, I- I had cheated on my wife." He responded, and his wife, who was standing beside him, was filled with shock and rage.

"You should go ahead, old man. Everyone respects you, and you have lived your life rightly." Someone said as they pushed forward a man in his eighties who was using a cane to stand, he was still holding some stone in his hands.

The old man lost balance and actually ended up stepping forward, the muffled and low screams of the priest made his body shiver, the priest was still suffering in that fire.

"So you are the pure soul who has decided to sacrifice himself for others’ sake?" Jayden spoke, the old man was shocked to hear those words.

"N- No COUGH I just a- accidentally fell forward, I am not a haa haa pure soul, I h- have done all kinds of b- bad things before." After saying that the old man rushed back into the crowd with his hunched back.

Now, it isn’t his fault that evil is sticking so closely to their bodies that even the people began to burn along with the darkness of their hearts.

Instantly the place was filled with loud and painful screams as all the people experienced for themselves what they were doing to others, they ran in all directions and even rolled on the ground but were unable to extinguish the flames.

The priest who was still suffering over Jayden’s palm fell to the ground with his entire body still burning, their flesh began to melt as inhumane roars rang all over the place.

Jayden no longer paid them any attention as flames began to disappear from around his body and soon he returned to his original appearance.

The little girl stared at everything happening before her with her emotionless and dead eyes, even though it brought some peace to her heart that no one else would have to suffer a similar fate as her family but what’s the point of it all now?

Her entire family is already dead, those crazy people have been killing villagers especially women and kids calling them demons, sorceries and what not, and they were all led by the priest though this was not the case with this village alone.

Many other villages were going through the exact same things where villagers were mercilessly burning others to death.

Slowly the cries of the people began to quieten, they died much slower than a normal fire while feeling all the pain but soon all of them had disappeared leaving only ashes behind.

Jayden finally turned back and looked at the girl, she reminded Lucian of Emi probably because there wasn’t much difference in their ages.

Then he began to walk towards her as the girl closed her eyes, accepting to die at his hands just like the others, but suddenly the ropes that had tied her to the wooden pole came loose and she almost fell forward.

"You don’t have to worry anymore, you are safe."

Jayden spoke as he held one of her shoulders gently and stopped her from falling, using his blood he allowed the girl to absorb it and instantly her wounds began to heal.

She didn’t show any expression on her face or speak anything, but just stared at her own arms seeing how all the wounds were disappearing at a visible speed.
